The Spinward Marches

Hello fellow human and others...

I know it's been a long time since the last blog. I'd like to blame it on any number of external reasons, but mostly it's just laziness. So to catch up, here answers to the questions that most often come my way.

!- The usual: How do the three of you on GDLA REALLY get along?

I think it's all up there on the screen. Sometimes it's tense, the mood swings can be dazzling (just check out the suppressed terror in my eyes) but mostly it's pretty good. Of course we can turn on each other in a blink, but hey...what's family for?

2-Steve, how much longer will you do GDLA?

At least until next Wednesday, maybe Thursday

3-Steve, who is your favorite, Dot or jill?

What,....are you nuts?

4-Steve...Are you proud of GDLA?

Yes. at least half the time (maybe a third)

5-Do you REALLY REALLY all get along

You know, we've been together for almost 13 years. Think about it, in that time, Jill's gotten married, found her birth parents, made a wonderful new marriage, and had a baby. Dorothy had the much talked about Nash, who's growing up to be quite a boy ....and I've just gotten older, with several hair color changes. We can say bad things about each other...but you can't.

6- Steve, what is the secret of your success?

Restate the question more accurately

6b-Okay....How have you been on tv so long?

Do you mean...just this morning?

7- Steve, do you have a motto you live by?

Yes....Blame nobody, aim high but expect little and be grateful as hell for whatever you get!I

8-Do you Really live by that?

Sometimes.

9- Steve, are you smarter than a 5th grader?

Yes I was... in the 6th grade.

Okay now questions for you...
Do you watch the debates, do you find them more annoying then enlightening?
What if the world had a moratorium on Brittany for a month? What is wrong with us anyway?
Given the impact of the writer's strike, what one show would you hate to see go away.

Bless you all for paying attention to us and have a great weekend!!!

Steve, I fixed your computer...there now that feels much better! Hey Steve I like you a lot, you are a fine gentleman and I was glad to help you that time, would do it again in a heartbeat, especially computer stuff if I can.

Hey look, you have a great show, great people there especially in the production end, a good lady on your right, a sultry one on your left (HoHoHo), any chance when you post a blog you will take the time to show the people posting in your blog a reciprocal respect and engage them in the blog you created?

Steve,
Thank God for Blogs and GDLA..I think the three of you are family, or even better. I am sure there's a great deal of respect and a sense of "brotherhood/sisterhood" betwen the three of you. That's priceless!

You are not getting older...just wiser!

We all need to leave Brittany alone!..before something bad happend to her and/or her kids!

I rarely have time to watch TV in the evenings...but, I would be very sad if any of the CSI dramas were cancelled...specially CSI: Las Vegas! Love that show!..or even Criminal minds...Without a Trace! All excellent dramas!

Have a great holiday season.

Steve,
1. I try to watch the debates, just to be informed, since they don't always give much information, it is difficult and annoying.

2. I could do well with a vacation from all the Brittany shizzle being reported. Brittany might do better with a little less reporting on her also.

3. I am hoping that since "Dexter" is on showtime that the strike won't disrupt this season... I gotta have my Dexter. Do you watch it? If so, what do you think?

It is good to see that you are blogging again. You and your wisdom are very much needed and appreciated... on the air and in the blogs.

Jillian is just as lovely.

Sorry if this is a duplicate. First time writing. Did you ever get the recipe for Chess Pie? My Mom use to make it every Christmas. I remember some time ago you asked if anyone knew of Chess Pie. I do.

1. Do you watch the debates, do you find them more annoying then enlightening?

No, i didn't watch them, because i'm not really into that. I just think of debates as a chance to see our future presidents bickering and bad mouthing each other with a bunch lies from what they say they will do once they are in office.

2. What if the world had a moratorium on Brittany for a month? It would be the greatest day ever. I'm so sick of her, and her really crappy music.

3. What is wrong with us anyway?

Too much of women's fashion, and not enough men fashion. You guys talk highly about chick flicks and always dog action/horror films, and you talk too much about crappy pop music rather then other great music that tends to be neglected because it's not corporate. Other then that our fine. Most of this is not your fault Steve.

4. Given the impact of the writer's strike, what one show would you hate to see go away.

I don't watch tv much, so i wouldn't miss any show really. My favorite show is fox 11 5/6 am news and GDLA. So i have nothing to worry about.

Steve,

You definitely have nerves of steel to work Good Day LA! I remember watching you many years ago when I was a teenager growing up in the 70s. I also recall a moment on Good Day LA when Bob Donley was out in the field, and he got his revenge on Jillian when he came across someone who had a pet iguana named Jillian. I will never forget it when he kept saying to the iguana "Hi Jillian, how are you doing Jillian", and Jillian had that look on her face which said "I'm going to get you for this Bob!"

By the way, whoever had that question for Rick regarding the computer part literally threw out a wrench! I don't think that question was fair...it to me was more trivial.

Stay out of trouble Steve!

Honestly Steve is the king of Kewl. But I really wish he got a Jillian replacement, like perhaps a Lisa Breckenridge or Christine Devine or Elizabeth Espinosa would all be excellent as co-anchor or Liz Habib as well. These ladies are all smart, beautiful and savvy women who are very professional and make great co-host talents. I just find Mrs. Reynolds too sassy and whorish for the role she has. Yeah some will be very angered by what I have said, but honestly I don't care a Canadian Rats behind if they are, just that I call it as I see it. Jillian needs to disappear at some ice rink, perhaps go back to Canada where she belongs and let some local talented women who are proud American's co-host and with far better talent (we don't need walking peep shows on the public air waves). But that is just my take. As for Steve, this is a great man, a classy guy who is one of the kindest and nicest people you will ever encounter, a real gentleman!

Steve has been the host of GoodDay LA for 13 years and counting. While it seems that he's been on LA tv for 60 years, it's really been since 1978. Steve's been the host of too many shows to mention but a few are: Am Los Angeles, Two on the Town, Live in La,: he has a closetfull of emmys, a star on Hollywood Blvd and looks forward (most mornings) to his time with Jillian and Dorothy, and yes, he reads a lot of the stuff you write!
