I know I know its been a while since I last blogged. There,s never enough time is there? I am in Denton covering the fire at The Tomato pizza restaurant. It's sad to see it go. I am a UNT alumn and spent many days and nights on Fry St. Yes new development is going up and will bring in new hangouts but like many folks here will tell you it just won't be the same.I tried to include a picture of the rubble that once was the popular ''Tomato''. but I just got this new PDA and I am still trying to figure it out. Technology huh? Once I do I will be able to show you more pictures from behind the scenes, what I do on a daily basis.

Saul-It burned last night. My daughter was talking to a friend of hers who was at a bar across the street. According to her, there was a memorial with a group of about twenty people that gathered earlier. Then they left to a place down the street. My daughter's friend looked down at her watch, then noticed smoke coming from the building. Someone had broken out the windows a couple of nights before. It was a tinderbox. And since it was slated for demolition, no charges will be filed. It sounds like arson to me. And there was a power failure on campus due to the fire and all those kids there for orientation ended up out in the parking lots. I have heard rumors that the Tomato will be given a prime spot once the new building is in place. Right now I think the story in Denton is how they are building apartments and condos that students aren't able to afford. Try finding a one bedroom for under $500-it can't be done. I know for a fact because I have two kids in college up there. I think Denton needs to wake up and realize that the only reason they are on the map is due to UNT and its students. There needs to be some type of rent control put in place. It's ridiculous. And THAT should be your story.

You can catch me on Good Day every morning from 5am-9am reporting on anything and everything. You can also find me getting to the bottom of "What's Buggin' You?", a Monday night feature on Fox 4 News at 9pm. Hard to believe that 2007 marks my 8th year at Fox 4 and 15th year in TV news.
