Did you catch that basketbrawl? No, not in the NBA, but the WNBA!!
It was great.. no doubt worth the price of admission!!
It happened in Tuesday night's Sparks/Shock game, and it came with about 5-seconds left. Sparks rookie sensation Candace Parker was dragged to the ground by a player on Detroit, which then started a bench clearing melee. But wait, there's more. Shock assistant coach Rick Mahorn (one of the Detroit Pistons bad boys from the 1980's) appeared to throw Lisa Leslie to the ground! What??!! Yes, Leslie thrown to the ground by a male coach!!
The WNBA says they'll figure out proper punishments on Thursday.. can't wait to see the rulings!! And can't wait to see these two teams meet again down the road!!

Quick question. What inning is the all-star game in??!! That was unbelievable! A 15 inning All-Star Game??!! Don't know about you, but I was glued to my seat. I loved every minute. Not a whole lot of offense, but the game had some great plays. A lot of pitchers found a lot of ways to get out of some major jams and keep the game going.
Then there was Dan Uggla. Poor Dan Uggla. Making 3 errors and striking out in crucial times. He'll have to live with that for the rest of his life.
A lot of people felt there weren't enough big names playing, but I enjoyed it!!
Can't wait for next year!!

If I was a Clippers fan, I'd be upset!! I mean one day Elton Brand says he'd like to return to the Clippers and play with Baron Davis, then the next day he packs up his things and heads east, to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers. What happened? Sounds like his agent, David Falk didn't get along with Clippers owner Donald Sterling over the past couple of weeks and according to Falk they decided to go to the Sixers once Brand was offered a "take it or leave it" contract. Either way the Clippers just can't win. It seems that things like this always happen to them. And for whatever reason, the Clippers will always play in the shadow of their roommates, the Lakers.

That didn't take long did it??!! The news broke late Monday night that Baron Davis abruptly opted out of his contract with Golden State. Immediate thoughts on where he'd land? Well, I thought maybe the obvious-- the Lakers, Suns, Spurs, Mavericks, maybe the Celtics-- you know the contenders. Then less than 24 hours we find out he's signing with the Clippers? Wow-- I was shocked. I know he's an L.A. native, but why the Clippers??!! That franchise is hexed. No matter who they draft or whoever they bring in, they find a way to lose. And if Baron Davis is like any other Clipper, he'll probably get hurt at some point and miss a ton of games. I wish him and the team luck, though. I'd love to see them give the Lakers a run for their money.

So now that we've had some time to digest that embarrassing 131-92 loss in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, what now for the Lakers?
Do they send the same team on the floor next year with a healthy Andrew Bynum or do they make a trade? Can Kobe, Pau, Lamar and Bynum all co-exist on the same floor? A lot of experts say yes, some say no. You also have to assume that some of the other teams in the West will make some moves to try to get better, but I think right now the Lakers will be the favorites to not only get back to the Finals next year, but I think they'll have enough to win it.. even if they do trade Odom or one of their big stars..
Yes it was an ugly series versus Boston.. but like they say, "Wait 'til next year!!"

So the Lakers won Game 3, 87-81. Shocked? Not me! Especially since that's what the NBA wanted!! I mean every game that is played is fixed right?!! The NBA had to have the Lakers win game 3 or else no one would continue to watch the series. With all of these allegations coming out about certain games and certain playoff series in the past being fixed, I'm sure something fishy is going on with thi current Laker-Celtic series, too. So don't be surprised if they drag it our 7 games. It's good for the NBA, it's good for TV, and it makes the NBA a whole lo of money..
