Hi Randi...I have had an alt. route for well over a month. They closed the Bellvue exit awhile ago. My Alt. route only adds 5 minutes, so that is not bad. But we will see once everyone has to have an alt. route....how many go on mine!...lol

Well I am one of the lucky ones. I never travel 40 but I do feel for the ones who do.

If we all leave a half hour to an hour early to compensate for the traffic and delays, then you are running your cars an extra hour or 2 per day. Thats burning alot of extra gas. Are we going to have backups at the pump? Surely we will be adding to the air polution while draining our pockets with extra gas purchase. I have already noticed I use more just for warming the car up since it got colder. Now they have these red light ticketing cameras. I can see because of traffic making frequent sudden stops, people enter the light green and suddenly they don't clear it and its red. Now you will have to fight a undiserved ticket. I think the scope of this or the ripple effect is going to cause more impact in areas we have not considered. I am sure they will al rear thier ugly heads over the next few years....

I have been using page to grand to chippewa to go to the doctor for years now. The trip will probably double in time and cost now.

From what I experience this morning, there shouldn't be problems. People need to know where their headed in the first place and follow the signs.

I dont think this week will really tell us too much. Next week when everyone is back from vacation/schools are all back in....

I mean if you look at traffic in the summer vs the winter....it is much lighter in the summer. Next week....we will see....

how about the one who still tried to get onto hwy 40 going east this morning? How embarrassing is that?

Okay, we've all known for a long time now that hwy 40 would be shutting down this week. And I realize it's the job of the news crew to let us in on that fact, which they have been doing for months now, ie. "Countdown to shut down". That's all well and good... BUT... they have neglected the fact that not every person who watches their show is affected by this shutdown. Some people only use hwy 40 a couple times a year, while some have never traveled hwy 40 in their lives. I have been watching Fox 2 morning news ever since it came into existence and I have never been so disgusted with a news broadcast in my life as I have been this morning! Besides the quick reports of a house fire and the FBI reopening the cold case of the parachuting bank robber in Washinton state, and the weather, the only thing they reported on was HWY 40 and I'm sick of it. I'm sure there were many other news reports they could have been telling us about instead of the minor morning traffic problems. People on the highways are not hearing their reports and they even reported that updates were given on the radio for those folks, so why should we the viewers have to "log- on" to the website to get the rest of the news?! TRAFFIC News is for the radio and Monica Adams little tid bits of air time, not the whole dang morning show!! Talk about beating a story into the ground! This is a classic case of beating a dead horse, so to speak! I kept watching this morning just to see if they would change to headline news makers, but this was not the case. I would have much rather have heard of some actual news than lis

I would have much rather have heard of some actual news than listened to Janice Murray tell us how to keep wreath bows puffy. Why are her segments on the air any way?! Did Dave make sure their was a clause in his last contract ensuring his wife would get air time? Isn't that neputism?? I thought most reputalble businesses frowned on neputism. What can we expect next? Randi Naughton's husband giving cooking tips, or Tim's wife giving family counseling on air, or Glen's wife giving tips on organizing the garage?? Please! Does Channel 2 still have a NEWS program in the morning or has it turned to just report what effects the anchors and their families? Get back to the news and leave the quickie traffic reports for Monica. If tomorrows newscast is anything like todays I WILL change the channel permanently. I know I'm only one person, but I also know I'm not the only person who feels like this.

WOW is right....I think someone needs a HUG! LOL - I agree somewhat with the BS and that's how I came to viewing Fox 2. Channel 5 (KSDK) was boring me with the "only newscast in high def" - who gives a rats ass!

We will all check out other channels.....see stuff we don't like and/or appreciate but eventually we'll end up right here. I believe the winner is Fox 2 because of their blogging environment. I do wish that all the news media would authenticate each story and also stick to more news - we crave it - they dish it out!
