Mayor it was not your fault what happened in MacArthur Park.  You got us a tortilla factory in the Valley.  I applaud the investment in Los Angeles.   The issue for me is what kind of human beings are being hired to be cops?  what kinds of psychological retributions do these fycks inflict on ciitizens not just in mob scenes but also in one on one interactions with citizens?  cops are weird fycks.  You are just the mayor. relax, it was not your fault.

Paul, my opinion is drawn from my experience with police officers. Most think of themselves as public servants and will really put themselves on the line for any of us. But there are a few who make all the others look bad. There are some who have the misplaced idea that they are figures of authority. They are not.

There should be a personality test as part of the hiring process. There should also be an education requirement as part of the promotions process.

May I judge from your picture that you have had experiences with over-zealous police actions?

Naw. I've only been booked when I was doing something odd. Traffic violation cites have been true. I just am sensitive when a cop tells me to keep moving when I want to hang around and watch the whole arrest process. I grew up watching Adam-12 and I kind of enjoy watching that shjt in real life. All I ever wanted to do was be an icecream scooper making banana splits for pretty girls. I live vicariously through tv. If I were paraplegic, I would have an excuse for being a watcher rather than a leader. Some of us just get by under the radar.

Moogie....I agree the police put theirselves on the line and Paul as far as telling you to move on it is so they can do their job.

I am a Navy submariner emeritus. Having served aboard the USS Springfield (SSN 761) - a Los Angeles-class nuclear powered Attack Submarine. I am interested in astronomy. My therapist gave me encouragement to find a new job. He says i have a brilliance stifled by lack of self-esteem. A career change is my focus.
