so did anyone hear my paltry rendition of take me out to the ballgame this morning on te morning news?  Oh boy was it bad?  It got me thinking that is one of those songs that no matter who you are or how good a singer you NEVER soundgood singing it and no one ever knows all the words.  Those types of songs crack me up!  In my life there has been a lot of them...I remember one by SWV....it was called "weak" and for the life of me I never could figure out the words to that song but I would sing it loud all the time..."I get so weak...blah blah blah..."  Ha!  My cousin's was "Bille Jean".  He woud sing, "Billie Jean is Popeye's lover..." OMG...I'm laughing just thinking about it....So...what is the song you love that you have no idea what the real words to it are?  I know there has to be one...

HOLLA!

nischelle,
your duet with smokey robinson gives you a pass,it was great-u should feel lucky!.
i was notorious for singing the wrong words-i am so behind the times,i will be telling someone about this new song i heard, and they will tell me-that was 2 yrs. ago!!.
and tell your cousinthat it is "popeyes lover" i looked it up--

there is a song by pearl jam that was popular "yellow leadbetter" i think?
mostly a bunch of howling by eddie vedder.

Here's one that goes back to around 1983: 99 Luftballons by Nena (It's sung in German, and even the English version is not a literal translation).

Oh, yes...how about the original version of "Der Kommissar" by Falco? That's another German song which has a loose translation version done by the band After The Fire.

Growing up I thought Jimmy Hendrix was gay because in his song 'Purple Haze' he sang,

"Purple haze all in my eye
Excuse me... while I kiss this guy!" (the sky)

Nischelle_Turner... Keep those "hailing frequencies" open! Nice, fun, blog.

their are a ton of songs that i have no clue on what they are saying. which is funny. i wonder if the artist ever knows that most of their fans have clue on what they are saying. but i love the the cult, and their biggest hit "firewomen" i have no clue on what he's saying except for "firewomen your to blame".

i also have no clue what def leppard is singing about on some of their tracks from "pyromania", and "hysteria" albums. a few tracks from l.a. gun's album too. i need to look at the booklet and read along to understand what they are saying, and it's funny how it all makes sense when you read along to the song, but without it your just like ???? also any cradle of filth and arch enemy song, def. reading along is needed, but with cradle of filth, even with the lyrics your still left wondering what the hell??? lol. i'll show ya a example later.

"saffron's curse" by cradle of filth

Through arcades where shimmering snowfall
Lay in state with the sad and damned
A rent lament barely flung above a whisper
Drew Me like a ghost to the haunts of Man

I Found Her tempting fate between Her wrist and razor
A kindred spirit in a graveyard
Beneath the stature of a colder saviour
Mist hung like thieves wreathed in scant arabesques
And through the chill earth it bedwed Her drawling breast
Like a come dream true under etched glass spent
Making love to the beautiful dead

She has sinned and severed Heaven
And in it's vulgar sight
Two figures writhe, but one silhouette
Extends it's fingers to the light

"Gothic towers tottered on **my** heels
As **I** fled asylum grounds
Committing hard crimes to soft cells
Where now another's screams resound"

From the gaspings in Her passing
Six feet under or beneath frayed gown
When Her hands pointed to midnight
In a white stained chamber bound

I Swept Her from the abyss of another dementia
Freeing Her soul from the fetters of fate
To take the reins of pleasure
Now nightwane mirrors freeze in seizure
At the glimpse of charmed pins in Her thighs
Ballrooms filled with black cats scratch
Out of spite and playful eyes

Pricked as a Witch Her stitches itch
For familiar lips to lick them dry
Whilst the dark regrasps, for if She asks
The Sun forsakes the rite to rise
And is the first to discern, that this Angel's return
Is a vengefull call on grace
For even martyrdom backs from it's suicide pacts
A leap of twisted fate betrayed...

The scars will last un

The scars will last until the stars
Caught in Her train bewitched
Fall into line and yeild the sign
That Dawn in born to their eclipse

For Our Inhumankind
Comes an underdog day Sunrise
Rippling with fire like femalediction

wind amidst the flame
i gazed out
tapped into the fog and shared her pain
when in her mind she sought his leave
and begged forgiveness

I splintered Her coffin and lay on the floor
Of a vault with Her clasped as the moon hugs the shore
What treachery this that She breathed no more?
Christ you bastard!

I wished Her back but the dead adored Her
Even wild winds sang in chora for Her
Saffron from my heart, from the start I swore
We'd be together more...

Creation froze with the triumph of Death
But still She stirred and awoke bereft
Of concern save for the aeons left
To lead the darkness...

She schemes of growing power and the lengths sucked hard to get it
I dream of being God but ever living to regret it
Our fecund nature decrees that Jesus wept come for
The Devil on Her knees

To grant Her lows a remedy
And mine desire's wish
To taste thereof of Heaven's scent
As sick and twisted as it is
For Her corset laced with arsenic
Hides snake curves within Her midst
Whilst Her halo of white lies supplies
Her temple to what God forbids.

def if you have the time check this song out. it's a great piece of work, and really shows off what this band has to offer. it's beatiful, shocking, scary, and heavy all at once.

Jamiel Shaw, gunned down by
an illegal alien gang member.

By Walter Moore, Candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles,
www.WalterMooreForMayor.com.

Neither Los Angeles nor any other American city should be a sanctuary for gangs.

Right now, L.A. Mayor Villaraigosa’s “sanctuary city” policy prevents our police from enforcing our immigration laws against any illegal aliens, including gang members.

This “sanctuary city” policy cost Jamiel Andre Shaw, II, his life.

Jamiel — a young man with an exceptionally promising future — was murdered by a gang member who was in our country illegally, and who had just been released from jail for committing other crimes.

Jamiel’s murder was preventable, and inexcusable. There is no legitimate reason to extend “sanctuary city” protection to gangs.

Our city — and every other city in America — should be a sanctuary for people like Jamiel, not a sanctuary for gangs. I have therefore drafted “Jamiel’s Law,” a proposed City ordinance to deny “sanctuary city” protection to gang members.

Jamiel and his family are counting on you: wherever you live, please urge the Los Angeles City Council to pass Jamiel’s Law.

Click here to read Jamiel’s Law.

Click here for form letters to City Council members.

Click here for City Council contact information.

Click here for background on Jamiel’s law.

We owe it to Jamiel and his family to pass this law. Regardless where you live, please contact the Los Angeles City Council today. No family should ever again have to endure such a terrible loss — a loss that was preventable.

J

sweet. glad you liked the song. it's one of my favorite from cradle of filth. maybe your next blog should be about your hair dresser and where and when you shop for groceries. seems like 1/2 the questions you got on your "chat it up" segment, and 1/2 the responses here are all about your hair dresser. plus i'm dying to know what you eat and buy on a normal daily basis. does nischelle eat coco puffs? or captain crunch? low fat milk, or organic milk? goat cheese? or regular cheese?

Nischelle,

Please take a moment on-the-air to say how bad it was that Amercia voted Michael Johns off of "American Idol" so early.

Did I mention I thought up the idea for and produced the Showtime Black History Month special called "It's Black Entertainment" that also aired in syndication on CBS and NBC. Not bragging, just keeping it "Fair and Balanced."

Sincerely,
R.J.
