So hello again from Spokane...it's Friday morning and we are knee deep in the craziness we call March Madness!  So southern california sports fans where are you?  We have UCLA already into round two and now we have USC and Long Beach State playng today.  What do you think?  I think the Trojans will take this one but I do think it  will be a dogfight.  Arkansas is no joke!  The Long Beach State game is harder to call...it would be the "cool" pick to take the 49ers but I have to say I think Tennessee will be just too tough.  They play in a REALLY tough SEC Conference all year and I think seeing that type of competition is an advantage for them and not seeing that kind of competrition is a complete disadvantage for LBSU.  We'll see I really hope I'm wrong though.  Personal note I hope my Kentucky WIldcats pull it off against Villanova today i AM A huge Tubby Smith fan and I think he deserves better than he is getting right now.  So let's talk give me your picks...tell me what you think about the Dukies going down yesterday and anything other that you want to say.  Holla!!

P.S.  I've been making fun of Spokane a little cause it's small and quiet but I have to say it is BEAUTIFUL here.  Ther eis the Spokane River right outside my hotel river and it is gorgeous to see the rushing riover every morning...reminds me of how I grew up.  So i guess the moral to this story is: don't knock it til you try it!

Hi NISCHELLE! ALL I HAVE TO SAY! IS GOOD JOB! I been watching the morning news since i was in 5th grade now I am 22 and adding you to the chinanigans just made it a more fun to watch. I luv Jillian she has been a role model to me since i started watching now i am soon to graduate in radio/tv/film just tell her Miriam says hi! but keep up the good work I love that a girl like you could be girly but have good sports knowledge!

Nischelle,

It's a good day when Duke loses, that's for sure. I like 'SC too tonight, they beat some good Pac-10 teams this year (not like the Pac-10 gets any love east of the Rockies). But they should pull it out.

Let's hope for some upsets today, most of Thursday's games were on the boring side.

hi nischelle, who do you think would win in a cage fight. dorthey or lisa b. ??? why do you think so?

in my opinion i think dorthey would win, only because she looks to have the reach advantage, she also seems to be just a tad larger in weight. she also has strong legs, so she might have knock out power with her kicks. personally i like lisa b. to win, cause she's cute awww. but i dont see the fight going in her favor. but she does have boney hands so her jabs would sting, but not be able to get a knock out. she also seems to be faster of the 2. so she would have to use that to her advantage to win. quick combos and good defense is her only way of winning.

Hey All...

Miss Maria! Hey love! Thanks for posting on my blog i read your yesterday and was going to respond to you. My bracket is still looking good I only missed one game yesterday and that was the Duke game HOWEVER I had them losing in the second round anyway.

Mimi and sweetie thanks for the kind words we have fun in the morning even though it is really early...Jillian is my girl and here is a little secret about her....she may seem zany and crazy but that girl has the biggest heart of anyone I know!

Glad that we have that type of show thst everyone just rolls with it. You talked about the nugget/laker game....i have to say Allen Iverson is my favorite player to watch but my favorite NBA player by far is Kevin Garnett....something about him. Iverson gets off though and I think going to the Nuggets will be very good for him in the end, You also talked about Jay-Z..he and Nas are my favorite rappers...do you have one? Jay's new song 30 is the new 20 always gets me going...'cause the lyrics are so true!

Nischelle... you are so great to watch each morning. When there's a good story to report, you're right there with your big smile and a great attitude. When there's terrible news, your reports are heartfelt and sincere. Thanks for being so great.

By the way - thanks for making us 'sports chicks' look so good with your vast knowledge of the sporting world. You go girl!

well here is my ranking of the female fighters at the fox 11 morning news. #1 ranking would make that person the champion. i'll write what fighting style i think each person would use due to their strengths and weaknesses in their conditioning and what real fighter i would compare them too in style and weaknesses.

1. elizabeth espinosa: wrestling fighting style.(freakish strenght,knock out power with her fists, great ground and pound, and a great grappler) fighter she resembles is Fedor Emelianenko

2. jillian reynolds:muay thai kickboxer (long reach advantage, knock out power with her kicks and punches, decent ground game) fighter she resembles Andrei Arlovski/tito ortiz/chuck liddel.

3. jean martirez:fighting style is boxing,wretling/and judo.(strong will, intense fighter, good all around w/ striking, take downs, ground and pound and submissions. her only weakness is lack of reach, and size.) fighter she resembles is Randy Couture

4. nischelle turner: fighting style is Taekwondo and kick boxing (fast striker, dangerous elbows, good conditioning, great in ground n pound, good in judo. only weakness is lacks knock out power, lack of size and a weak chin.) fighter she resembles is David Loiseau

5. karen posada/dorothy lucey: karen is a boxer, dorothy is a kick boxer (both are great strikers, but are weak on their ground game. karen strength is in her punches while dorothy is in her kicks. both have good reach, and average build.) the fighter that resembles karen is Phil Baroni. dorothy resembles Mirko Cro Cop

Hello again everyone...

I'm in a great mood today because it was actually a sun shiny day here in Spokane! So it's USC v. Texas tomorrow afternoon to see who goes to the sweet sixteen. I just finished interviews with the players adn coaches andI have to tell you their enthusiasm is INFECTIOUS!!! These guys really believe in themselves and each other and have a lot of faith they will win this game we'll see. Honestly I do not have them winning this game even though my heart would love to see that happen. BUT anything can happen during the tournament.

So as focused as the Trojans are on this game they are also dealing with a bit of a personal battle. Ryans Francis was a teammate of theirs and he was killed (shot to death) while visiting his mother in Louisiana in May. Today would ahve been his birthday so he is on their minds and his mother is here with the team so they ahve also been spending the day trying to keep her spirits up. It has ben a very tough day for her as you can imagine.

So if the Trojans win this gamethey will head to New Jersey next weekend for the sweet sixteen and wouldn't that be sweet. What do you guys think? ANd SAMO how did I end up fourth on your list of the toughest women at FOX? I'll challenge any of those fox broads! (lol!)
Anyway, I'm glad my Wildcats won and my bracket is still looking good...take that QUIBAN!!!!!!!!

Nischelle came to FOX 11 in September of 2004 and in January of 2005 became a permanent member of Good Day LA. In August of 2005 Nischelle returned to New Orleans to report on Hurricane Katrina. It was during those 14 days covering the aftermath of the storm that changed Nischelle forever. Not only did she experience personal and professional tragedy, she also saw a growth in the human spirit that will never leave her. Nischelle won numerous awards for her reporting during the storm including the California Junior Chamber of Commerce's "Outstanding Young Californian" Award.
