The National Endowment for the Arts is really putting your tax dollars to good use. The City of Los Angeles has decided that it wants to spend upwards of $2 million on a book fair in Mexico, which includes building a pavilion for the event. This is thanks to a grant from the NEA for the project.
Outrageous as it is ... it gets even worse when you put this into context. At the same time the City's Cultural Affairs Department cooked up this little plan, the city wanted to cut funding for its own libraries and charge extra fees for borrowing from different library branches. Thanks to a contingent of citizens, the library funding was saved. But the message is clear ...
Oh, and nice logo. I guess the "great nation" they are referring to isn't ours.
