Polling Problems

Now people have problems with electronic voting? Last election it was problems with paper ballots, counting,etc. What shall we do next election? Shall we each write our selections on a scrap of paper and place them into 55 gallon drums? They could then be counted by someone trustworthy [?] and the results published the following year! It seems as if the very people who alleged problems with paper ballots and wanted a better method are the ones complaining now about electronic votes. Whine, Whine, Whine. Get over it!!

I've never had a chance to vote electronically.. it's always been paper... The first time I voted I think I had to push buttons?!?
This year it was like grade school taking a test filling in the bubbles..
If those machines don't work (for papers) I wonder if I would have gotten better grades on my tests..lol

Amen Mrrick... seems to me the only ones who really make a stink about the polling are the ones who lose. You can equate it to the losing teams fans blaming the refs when their team just stinks.

Granted there are bugs to work out in any system, let's all be proud that we live in a country where we actually get a chance to poke a hole in a ballot or push a button on a touch screen to decide our country's leadership.

Noticed your profile too, and believe me I very much recognize that I have that privilege because of my grandfathers and my father and people like your son stand up and defend it. Props to your son!

I agree. this couldnt be simpler!! I posted in my own blog I had a problem finding where to stick my card. (they had something accidently blocking it) but the poll worker was so nice in helping me!! He didnt intimidate me, or make me feel stupid. Just helped me and walked away! The voting itself was so easy!!! push here, press there...print! Done!!! It takes me longer to check my email in the morning! I couldnt be more pleased with the electronic voting!!!!

Although for people who still have issues. I dont see anything wrong with having options available. I know my grandfather was making a big stink about the computers. Although they arent hard, they are intimidating to someone who has never used a computer before.

The last time I voted I punched a whole in my ballot, this time I felt like a school kid filling in the bubble. There was also a very long wait as people waited to vote. The volunteers were also very helpful and understanding. I think I would rather punch a card or press a computer button in Summit county to make my vote count!

I would just like to know the cost justification for Lake County to go from push button electronic ballets to screen press electronic ballets. The old ones worked fine, why the change?
