Here's one for mmustangg.  A bit:

When a Democratic takeover of Congress put Christopher Dodd in charge of the powerful Senate Banking Committee, Connecticut's senior senator eagerly met with reporters, outlining his generally pro-industry positions, but pledging to put consumers — and the long-term health of the economy — first.

"At the end of my tenure on this committee," Dodd said in early 2007, "I want it to be said that the safety and soundness of our financial institutions was not weakened on my watch."

A year and a half later, Dodd acknowledges that the nation's finances are in an "economic maelstrom." And while Washington engages in an urgent search for after-the-fact fixes, there is also plenty of finger-pointing, and there are enduring questions about whether campaign cash — millions and millions in campaign cash — blinded Dodd and other overseers to the excesses of industry.

As of right now, the bail out has failed.

All responsible for creating the need for the bailout should be held to account. Which ever side of the aisle they reside.

"All responsible for creating the need for the bailout should be held to account. Which ever side of the aisle they reside."

EXACTLY!

Both sides need to stop the partison BULL$IT & work for the USA. I don't know exactly what Pelosi said this morning, but anything that could have been taken as partison was an ignorant thing to do.
And then I'm watching CNBC & one of the Republican leaders comes on saying that this was so important for the taxpayers but because Pelosi said what she said - then that made some Republicans vote against it. HUH!!!!!!
It's so important for the taxpayers, but they vote against it because Pelosi said some partison crap. Was he really too stupid to understand that that showed the Republicans were more concerned about politics than about taxpayers too?

What's the procedure to throw all these bums out & start fresh?

Some out there are advocating going back to our heritage and gathering up some tar & feathers.

I prefer peaceful means. Impeachment of those responsible would be a start ;)

If that doesn't do it, voting them all out on their rears should help. Assuming an accurate vote count of course.

Hey, the Army comes home to patrol 10/01. They could round them all up for WePeeps. They have sworn to uphold our Constitution from all enemies. Foreign & Domestic. Doesn't a sold-out, corrupt politician fit in there somewhere?

Do my words make me a potential terrorist in our sold-out, corrupt politicians eyes? Have we sunk that far in our ideals? Don't answer that.

Funny Vitt, one of my reps that I was gonna vote out voted No. Maybe she isn't so bad after all? We'll see when they try again. Cuz I bet they will.

I try to be careful DEOP. I would never advocate violence. I don't want to see it here ever. I would like to see accountability brought to those who deserve it. But not by violent means. By legal means.

JFK did say that when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable. Let us hope peaceful change is always possible cuz we know what his words got him.

Moo,

Thank you. A bit.
You know, I have been railing against these Dodd and his clone Barney Frank for a reason. This was part of the reason. Trying to get you or YD to admit their culpability.

I have been trying to get Yellowdog to tell me what Dodd and Frank do for a reason. I was trying to get him to admit that these two had a lot of control over the economy. I knew all along that the senate banking committee wasn't in the executive branch. DUH! I was playing dumb, trying to get him to explain the function of these committees. I knew he couldn't explain it and then claim all the fault lay at Bush's feet. He never did explain it. At least you manned up, so to speak and posted this. I know Bush should shoulder part of the blame on this mess. I have never said he was perfect. I however don't dismiss Dodd and Frank's role in the mess. Or Queen Nancy for that matter.

BTW...You guys can call believe I was playing dumb or just call me dumb, it doesn't matter to me, but I do have my reasons for the things I type here.

When I saw this, I had to make a thread just for you ;) My point on the other thread was there were so many other things posted in that thread to discuss besides those two.

I'm still surprised WeThePeeps won out. Today. I'm sure the bail out isn't gone, but let's come up w/something that is actually fair and has accountability. Not a free ride. Just the fact that it started out w/stipulations of no oversight said all that needed to about the whole thing. That Reps were being kept out of the meetings says a whole 'nother.

Come election day we have some serious housecleaning to do. For All of our benefit.
