Here it is. The Ciip of Rep. Burgess speaking is at the link:

Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX) reports from the floor of the House that the Republicans have been cut out of the process and called unpatriotic for not blindly supporting the fraudulent bailout. He says the only debate has been about what talking points to use on the American people. The most ominous revelation is when he claims the Speaker has declared martial law.

“I have been thrown out of more meetings in this capital in the last 24 hours than I ever thought possible, as a duly elected representative of 825,000 citizens of north Texas.” Said Congressman Burgess.

Burgess asks the Speaker of the House to post the bailout bill on the internet for at least 24 hours instead of passing the largest piece of legislation in US financial history in the “dark of night.”

The most frightening part of Rep. Burgess’ one-minute floor speech is when he says, “Mr. Speaker I understand we are under Martial Law as declared by the speaker last night.”

Say What?  Where?  In DC?  Nationwide?  Rep. Burgess doesn't sound like he's joking.  Misinformed perhaps?  Just in time for the Army to hit the streets?

Interesting.  I guess if he's indeed correct, we'll know by tomorrow?

Ah, I found this in the comments section:

This isn’t “martial law” as in police state.

Martial law in congress means they will go ahead with the bill without votes.

It does not apply to any specific measure, but rather grants blanket authority.

So, they'll need the real thing for us once it's rammed down our throats then?

What will the Crackberries do?

Hey, check out foxbusiness.com

Guess whose winning their poll for whom is going to look the smartest coming out of this economic crisis? W/76%, it's my main man Ron Paul.

But, I knew that. I've read his book. "Revolution - A Manifesto".

Well if those DemocRATS wanted to pass the bill they did not have to wait for the Republicans, since after all they do have the majority.

Lots of congresscritters are hearing from us that a Yes to the bailout is a no to their reelection. Both sides of the aisle. Keep those calls, faxes & visits up. Perhaps it will make a difference?

If I have to say it, regarding the above poll, Ron Paul is against the bail out.

It is SOOOOO funny to see the "liberals" blamed for the "bailout mess". This is a creation of the non-regulation so loved by the RWNJ's.

At least some are honest enough to resist the murder of free enterprise in the US........at the end of the day we will finally need to accept the fact that deficit spending, borrowing $$ from the evil commies and the nonsense espoused by the RWNJ's and their leader, Dumbo the Dancing Devil, have destroyed our country from within..........the fate of every great power in history after about 200 years of glory. I guess it's our turn to bite the dust and to become irrelevant ........THANKS GEORGE.

BTW, Nancy is a slut and a dictator and a piece of crap, but it pales in comparison to the thuggish tactics used by Dick and Dumb over the past 7 years.

Yeh! And the two democrats that were in charge of regulation too! Barney Frank and Chris Dodd! Both Democrats! You tell'em YD!

I see FoxBusiness took down their poll showing Ron Paul as the smartest dude in this crisis and now have one up showing 66% of the unscientific results going to voting out those who vote for the bailout. err Rescue Plan.

Here's a link to videos of some of the protests on Wall Street:

Here's one on how they don't have the votes to pass it:

So is that why 'Martial Law' was declared?

Interesting times indeed. Good to know Reps all over America are having their offices flooded w/calls, faxes & visits from WePeeps telling them to Just Say NO!

Fool us once...

"Go back to the civics class stang, you fail again."

Then explain what branch of government these two committees fall into and what they do?

1)Senate Banking Committee - "Chairman Christopher Dodd"
2)Financial Services Committee - "Chairman Braney Frank

Educate me!

Hey mmustangg, do you have anything to add to this blog besides parroting Dodd & Frank are responsible over and over again?

Don't you have your own blog for that?

Any comment on 'Martial Law' being declared besides the joke you made?

Any comment on the other links provided?

Closed-door sessions w/no votes?

Or is it all Dodd/Frank all the time w/you? *hint* it's a bit more far-reaching than that.

Have you called your Rep yet to voice your opinions for or against?

Just curious.

Moo,

If you go back and look, it was YD that brought up anything partisan and I merely responded to it. I actually quoted him in my reply. I guess what you are saying is that it's ok for him to stray off topic but not anyone else?. I guess this is YOUR brand of martial blog law? Interesting.

Since neither of you can explain in your own words what those two committees do, I guess I'm done here. But...As long as you keep saying there's no oversight and pinning the blame to one person, expect to hear about them.

BTW...Did I insult anyone here or did I just p!ss you off with the truth?

I responded to slut Nancy, stang, I'm an equal opportunity critic.

Civics : 9one more time)

The EXECUTIVE BRANCH regulates the financial industry (NOT CONGRESS).

How can you not understand that?

BTW : despite what Cheney says, he and Dumbo operate within the Executive branch. Congress DOES NOT.

The martial law issue is not surprising MO. There's not a nickle's bit of difference between the goons of either party. The party in power just has the gavel to beat the other guys silly.
