This earthquake struck close to the New Madrid fault area and was 5.2 on the scale. Thousands of people witnessed the tremble, shake, and train noise. In fact my daughter who lives about 7 miles farther north says her home shook and floors trembled.

But the amazing thing is I slep thru the whole thing not feeling anything at all.No damage either.I heard that people felt this quake 100 miles north of where I reside. This earthquake was about 300 miles south of Hammond,Indiana.

Actually I have never experenced a quake in my life.

Thank God from all the reports I have heard.

Good day Media,
Oh my friend, I Just Thank God you are all ok more then a couple things worry me about this, earthquakes in the wrong places, issue. One because where you live, you are not built for any earthquakes at all.! That is what I worry the most of Media.!
The other that is you have a lot of brick some old brick, buildings. That scares me as a lot here are reinforced for quakes or fake brick. But I feel here we may still have to many windows in large buildings.
I am hoping No more earthquakes there or us here either.! Really this fault line is so surprising.! Thank God You and family all your loved ones are ok .Love you Brenda

yes,

I heard about the quake. Being a native Calie myself I have grown up with earthquakes. Welcome to the club! If you want to be impressed my Aunt, who is originally from El Salvador, lived through a near 8 point quake back in the old country and was living in Los Angeles when the 94 quake hit, a near 7 point. Her TV nearly fell on her in the 94. Imagine that!

I remember a couple of good shakers in the 70's when I was a kid in South Central Los Angeles. Then I was in Hemet Cali during the Northridge quake and a few others.

But for me the biggest thing I was ever in was a freak storm that hit north of St Louis and moved south downing trees and powerlines leaving my town without electricity for about 5 days. Made alot of friends in the neighborhood... Had one heck of a BarBQ

I am so used to storms but so glad that they rarely come thru my way tearing up things.Believe me I can tell the stories.

Hey Media...

Obama did better in the Saddleback interviews than Mc Cain. Even though I disaggreed with him I came from the debate with much more respect for why the man believes as he does. Seems to me Mc Cain either knew the questions or he knew to keep his answers short and to the point. Senator Obama to my mind would do well to remember that part of the presentation of white conservative christianity is that good will can be assumed but never openly discussed. I think Barack would do well to stop letting his right hand know what his left hand is doing... hopefully he will do better in this upcoming debate at the Saddleback.

Hello statueman,Well I am sure with all of the advisors Barack has he should do better next time.I have known Barack personally for 5 years. I did receive an RSVP to his anoucment on tomorrow in Springfield,Illinois. My wife and I plan to attend as we will have good seating. Some 30,000 people are expected.I am so proud of Him as I met him in the beginning of his Political career. I do see and understand what you are saying. In fact I could still get in touch with him.I have been so busy with so many things that I have not been able to focus on writing any blogs. So much travelling and invitations to many events. But I am always glad to see your comments.

Wow... what a convention! I hope you read my blog "Purposely Underwhelming" but you know what? Every once in awhile I go back and read a blog I wrote in January O8 and I was wondering if you'd have a look at it.
