I hate it when it happens! But yes...it does happen from time to time, I was half right about this past weekend's forecast.  Saturday was a cloudy and cold day with light drizzle. Ugh!

What can I say other than I'm sorry to those of you who planned an outdoor BBQ but  instead, had to push the party inside.  Sorry...for the drizzle that may have ruined your newly waxed car.  Sorry for the tan you wanted to work on at the beach but didn't even have a chance to grab that sexy suit.

But hey------ There was Sunday!!!!!!!!
That forecast was Spot on!!!
:-)
We'll try and get it right again this week.

Oh, even the best of them get it wrong. I guess that's what makes life so challenging. By the way your professionalism as the news anchor at KCOP is very high indeed. Your career has turned a major corner and matured greatly. Keep up the good work! Now if you were dealing with frozen, gravitated, Ice-Anvil Thunderheads like in my old Sci-Fi Thunder Dead, you would have your hands full with that weather report. This month only you can hear the complete story here at

Aloha Maria!

Don't worry, we all know who really controls the weather...it's a bit of a guessing game at times. You always do great work on KCOP and KTTV; we are all blessed to have you here!

On a sidenote, last year, I went to the Infocomm conference at the Anaheim Convention Center, and I happened to be chatting with an exhibitor who had lived in Hawaii some years ago. When I mentioned that you were working at KCOP & KTTV, he said that many people in Hawaii miss you dearly. That confirms just how blessed we are having you here. Keep up the great work, and keep on having fun too!

Hi Maria,

Just wanted to say you are absolutely my favorite newscaster/weatherperson on television today. You light up the 11:00 show, and I hope that you stay forever. Maybe Lauren won't come back and you can keep the top spot. You bring such a lovely classy approach to the news, I can't wait to watch you. You also get in what seems like twice as many stories as Lauren because you don't spend time on all the banal banter. Keep up the good work beautiful!! The other night--the e-mail question asked which political candidate would you rather have a meal with? (Clinton, Obama, McCain) I thought to myself, I would much rather take you out to dinner than any of them.

hello all, forgive me for the intrusion. i just wanted to let you all know that currently, in cleveland ohio we have had a snow storm for about 6 hours now & already have 4-6 inches of snow in the ground, the roads are terrible & visibility is almost nil.

by tomorrow afternoon, the weathermen are predicting that we will have aprox 16 inches of snow on the ground & will have experienced blizzard conditions (most likely overnight).

so, that being said, enjoy your warm, sunny weather today regardless of what your weatherman says............it could be worse, you could be in cleveland. LOL

Hey Maria:
Come on now. You don't look at the charts and stuff, you just read what is handed to you. So should we shoot the messenger? Then who would do the weather? Mark Thompson? He's good, but he can't hula like you.

We have the same problem in FLorida. I dont think any Weather forecaster should go out more than a day. I laugh at the 5 day forecasts. We had a massive storm yesterday and I listened to the weathermen who said no rain Thursday... WRONG.. more rain on the day supposed to be nice.

I cant wait to get to LA however.. your weather will be great for my horses. I am sick of the humidity and heat that hits about May pretty bad here and lasts to October or later.
