I know I've blogged about this topic before...but man, what's up with the food prices?

Got any tricks to stomaching the bills at the store?

I only eat water now. It fills you up but doesnt last very long

I could go on and on about cooking. Can't stand it, and love it all at the same time. It's a love-hate thing.

Try recipes from scratch instead of instant. Buy aluminum foil and buy large quantities of meat and divide them into meals. For a family of five, I can make 3 to five meals out of one huge package of meat. Save and eat left overs. You can use left over pinto beans for Chili or even refried. Mashed potatoes can be made into Shepard's pie, or fried potato cakes. Google recipes, it is fun!

I buy big briskets of beef then cut it up and get 5 +- roasts out of it. Saves me about 1/2 of the price of a roast in the store. Just throw in crock pot, comes out great.

Also, when the milk is down to the bottom of the handle, I add 1 qt of the reconstituted powdered stuff.

I'm a reporter for FOX 35 News. I moved here January 2006 from cold Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It's been an exciting new adventure. I still feel as if every weekend is a vacation. Beaches, theme parks, pools. It's all new to me. When friends from up north make wise cracks about the hurricanes I remind them of the 20 below temperatures they have to endure every winter. It's so cold reporters have to use markers instead of ballpoint pens when covering an outdoor story because the ink freezes. Ha. I'm happy to be here and excited to cover the news that matters most to you.
