Have any of you been cutting back on daily life expenditures because of the economy?

I've noticed, I don't go to the grocery store as often now, I think of the higher prices and gas it will cost to get there. Now, I'll wait until my refridgerator is almost bare before going. I'm not sure if it really saves me money, but it makes me feel like I am.

I go grocery shopping now once every 3 weeks. When I look at my credit card statements, I see that I am spending considerably less.
The meals are considerably less appealing, as well.
It could be just as well in the long run.
I could drop a few pounds and boring works.
I have also started walking more when I can, usually in the cool of the morning.
Just make the best out of whatever life throws at you.
Good luck to us all.

Oh yes...very much......it has been a hard to learn process I guess to be so scrutinized by penny and dime...but I am kinda getting the hang of it.........it just breaks my heart when my son wants something (he really doesn't need) and I find myself trying to explain to him over and over.......hopefully, he will get it very soon, as I have put him to do lots of chores and in this way he can earn a few dollars to buy whatever he wants though I prefer he learn to save ..I think he's going to make it...lol GREAT POST...hits right at home

Eric's right. I guess we all do what we can. I'm buying almost all Great Value brand from Walmart b/c there's very little, if any, difference in taste/quality.

I'm a reporter for FOX 35 News. I moved here January 2006 from cold Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It's been an exciting new adventure. I still feel as if every weekend is a vacation. Beaches, theme parks, pools. It's all new to me. When friends from up north make wise cracks about the hurricanes I remind them of the 20 below temperatures they have to endure every winter. It's so cold reporters have to use markers instead of ballpoint pens when covering an outdoor story because the ink freezes. Ha. I'm happy to be here and excited to cover the news that matters most to you.
