American Idol is set to crown its 7th winner in a couple of days. Past title holders include: Kelly Clarkson, Rueben Studdard, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Hicks. Last year Jordin Sparks won. This year its down to David Cook and David Archuleta…as we have seen in previous seasons it really doesn’t matter who takes the title …many former Idol contestants like Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, and even Kellie Pickler used their exposure from the show to help push their careers. And it seems as though for the two guys who won Idol, their careers peaked during the show. Will that be the case for this years winner? And which David will take the AI '08 title?

Look forward to hearing from you!

i'm hoping cook wins. that archuleta kids doesn't seem right. something about him that just annoys the hell out of me. i think the reason why idols ratings are diminishing is because it doesn't matter who wins, because at least 2-4 people from each season will be making/releasing a record within the following year. plus out of the 2-4 albums release, only 1-2 will be sucessful.

I honestly believe that they should lift that rule about requiring all contestants to be human in order to compete.

I can really wail. all I want is a fair shot.

I believe that the world is ready for Fish.

i don't watch, and for sure i don't vote, but i'll vote for fish if he totally is mean to the other contestants, sings unique songs choices unlike the typical songs that most idols chooses, and stage dives off the stage.
