Idol gives back on Wednesday. The producers of American Idol have filled the 2 1/2 hour show with lots of performances including, John Legend, Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5, Snoop Dogg w/Charlie Wilson, and Carrie Underwood. They taped most of it at the Kodak Theatre. I was backstage to get interviews and i must say it was quite a scene. Snoop Dogg was surrounded by his entourage...he wore a sweatshirt with an Idol Gives Back logo on it and told me he plans to put it on e-bay -- money will go toward his sons football league. Fergie surprised me with her extensive knowledge of this years Idol finalists...and speaking of Idols...former Idol winner Carrie Underwood looked elegant in her Farrah Augsana gown. She also mentioned that season 7 Idol finalists are incredibly talented and she's grateful they weren't around when she was in the race for the title. The show on Wednesday is about giving back. Idol judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul along with show host Ryan Seacrest have all decided to donate there paycheck this week. I've been told the goal is to raise $100 million dollars for 6 different charities. Have you worked with any charities that are changing lives? or Have you had a life changing experience volunteering or working with an organization? would love to hear from you.
talk soon.

I have so much respect for AI. They don't have to do this but they are sharing the wealth by giving back. I will diffinitely be watching and contributing.

Some light in the middle of this country's problems right now.

I think that American Idolatry deserves a slight tip of the hat and a lite pat on the back. For my part I would love to see a soaring successful Hollywood endeavor do something of this sort and get caught doing it rather than tooting their own horn.

The show is great and some kid gets to earn a living singing and we all pray the success doesn't destroy them... it seems to me Idol does a good job of choosing good solid youngsters who can handle success but I don't know.

But this whole Idol Gives Back thing scares me in the religious sense of actually getting an answer from a deaf dumb idol. Oh I know I'm being absurd but really who the hell cares does a good deed or two? I know, I know... they're just giving us the opportunity to join with them and contribute to good causes. Oh well... "Jesus take the Wheel"... ok, now I can smile. Yeah she did look elegant didn't she, I'm so proud of her.

I'm watching idol gives back. Did you see Paula Abdul's eyes when she made her presentation with Randy Jackson?

She looked "ripped" ...either that or those fat eyelashes need a little trim spa.

Jimmy Kimmel's bagging on other comedians pretty good:

Since Sarah Silverman's been dating Jimmy Kimmel she's let herself go. And so has he.

She looked like a suspect on mr. blackwells most wanted. Her black dress looked more like a costume from batman returns.

Packaged like a penguin with a big black batmitzvah bow.

o.k. i'll get to the point

It would have been easier to overlook a bland flat monologue with a halfway decent appearance.

Well I really liked it... I only caught the last hour and a hafe but Annie Lennox really moved me with the story and then proved that the human voice can cause spontaneous emotion. Her singing could put visine out of business.

I thought I heard on the news earlier that all three presidential candidates were going to make an appearance...? Did I miss that or did I hear it wrong.

Anywho.. Oh yeah... it seemed to me that Brook White never sang a short solo like the rest of the contestants.

Ending with a song I learned at a Calvary Chapel near Idlewild was well... interesting and for me unexpected. "Shout to the Lord all the earth let us sing..." Idol gives back... indeed. (I just have problem with the word Idol, I'm picky like that... It's like seeing a bunch of talented young singer aspiring to be "The Next American 'False God'")
