I dont have HBO at home. I got rid of all those channels. But Im on the road this week and the hotel Im at has it.

I've been watching the John Adams series and it is very good. Just wondering if anyone else is watching it.

It is on top of DVR list. Tom Hanks has done a wonderful job with this. I can't wait for the remaining 8 episodes.

I agree Charlie. The way Adams is shown as someone so reluctant for war but when he makes his mind up watch out.

And how he knew he was hated by the Tories but continued to press them and finally convince most of them. Then he knew he shouldn't write the DOI because....ok I'm spoling it for everybody else. Time to stop.:-)

If you like history this is a good series to watch. Just like BoB.

I find it interesting that the last 4 major mini series of history, Tom Hanks has been involved with. The 1996 "From the Earth to the Moon" about the space race to the Moon, "Band of Brothers," now John Adams, and next year the sequel to BoB's, "The Pacific" dealing with the Pacific war in World War II.

These are all education quality productions, something Hollywood doesn't do enough of. You may not always agree with Mr. Hanks politics, but the truth is, he does love this country and shows it truthful in his work. You have to give the guy props for that.

It really is a good series, JQP!!! It sends chills through you to hear the "Declaration..." read by John Adams, and others in the series!!! John Adams tells Jefferson that it is "the finest piece" that he had ever read, as Jefferson was sitting quietly in a corner! Okay, I need to stop, or I'll ruin it for everyone else, LOL!!! And yes, Charlie, I think it is wonderful that Tom Hanks has been involved with all of these mini-series! He seems to have the "magic touch" and I love history!!!

I an honestly say no one should care about Hank's politics because of the quality of work he has done for these series. Didn't know about "The Pacific". Can't wait for that one.

Just goes to show that history can be just as entertaining as most of the garbage on tv today. To bad it is on at 9pm, when a lot of kids can't see it. But I guess HBO will put out a dvd set for schools, I hope so anyway. The History channel had a good program about James Madison this past week also, thank heaven for good tv.
