Dear Union of the United States of America, and the State of Ohio,

        As of the 8th of this month, I will be 19. Shortly after this, I will be heading to Canada to spend some of my hard earned money of Canadian gambling. I tell you of this to address two issues of concern to me. The first being the legal age, although 18 is generally understood as the age in which a person in considered an adult, there are a handful of laws which undermine this by making a legal minimum age of 21. One being the ability to own firearms (something protected by constitution I might add), the ability to rent a car, or a hotel room, but most importantly the ability to purchase and consume alcohol. Because of this laws, people who are considered adults are being denied simple liberties, because not only do these laws directly affected said liberties, they cause discrimination around those things. For example a person under 21 cannot enter a bar, rent a firearm at a shooting range, or gamble at a casino, despite the fact that someone who is 18 is legally allowed to gamble. I believe these laws are an atrocity to the fundamental American principle of liberty. The second issue I would like to address, is of more concern to the people and the state of Ohio. Although other states have legalized gambling and casino, Ohio remains without it. Because of this, the money we spend on gaming will go out of state, and even out of country, as will soon occur. It is for this reason I implore you to allow legalized gaming and casinos in this state. Otherwise, my family's money shall continue to go into the pockets of other states and countries.

I know have the story of the ultimate idiocy from the state and from bureaucracy.

Upon arriving at my school earlier this week, I noticed that the door had a couple of floor mats in front to of it to keep the door open, however it wasn't working to well.  I really didn't think to much of it (famous last words as far as I'm concerned). Then I overheard something that just bugged me, and still does. The school was told to remove the door stops from its doors because they were.... get this.... a fire hazard! These weren't the wedges you stick in front of a door, these are the swivel down kind that are attached to the door. I have no idea why they (whoever they are, I'm guessing the fire department) made this decision. If anything these door stops should be a requirement, they keep the door open which in the event of fire keep the door out of the way of people trying to exit the building, I would say the door is a bigger fire hazard than a door stop.

Are we strangling ourselves? I think so, no need to worry about some serial killer doing it, we are already strangling ourselves.

We know that just about everything in nature cycles itself, from water to oxygen to nitrogen to carbon. However I think we are strangling ourselves by using fossil fuels, or at least we will. Even though carbon cycles, much of it is stored in the form of fossil fuels, in the ground and not in the atmosphere, but if we keep burning it and adding it to the air our air will become diluted. It is comparable to having a small home water fountain, the water cycles around, in this case it is the carbon already in the atmosphere. Now imagine if you will taking a gallon of water (representing the carbon in the earth), and pouring it into that little water fountain, it is now over flowing. Take this into context of real life, instead of having a small mess to clean up, we now have less breathable air. We are now choking. Will this happen? I don't know, it is just an interesting thought that occurred to me.

I say: what's the big deal, he bought a security system with taxpayer money, do we not pay plenty of skilled people armed with guns and sophisticated electronic equipment to protect the president for millions a year,  you know the secrete service.

Really, is somebodies brain malfunctioning. Why would you want to put a strip club next to a Baseball stadium and Arena? According to radio DJ Bob Frantz, most people e-mailing his show have no problem with there being a strip club there. Although I wouldn't call a collection of emails from the audience of one DJ to be a scientific survey.

I for one don't have a problem with strip clubs, but if there is going to be a strip club in that area is should be one one or both of the following circumstances.
1: It is not directly by Indians Stadium; at least a few blocks away, not where people (mainly kids) will see it when walking to the Stadium.
2: It is nondescript: by looking at it you can't tell it is a strip club (save for a change in words like Adult club), no neon strip-pole in the window, and nothing can be seen from outside.

It's someones choice if they want to go to a strip club, but one shouldn't be so close to a family place that parents should have to worry about their kids seeing such a place.

I recently found an old knife that belong to my grandfather. It is covered in rust, so I am wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of it with household products, other than CLR?

I think part of this stimulus check stuff is just pathetic. According to the IRS website people who were claimed as dependents on somebody else tax return is ineligible to receive a stimulus payment. Parents of children under the age of 17 will get a little more per child on their payment. However this leaves a gap or gray area. Those who are 17 and over but are still dependents will not get a check nor will their parents receive any more. So this means hard working people like myself will get nothing but people already living off the government doing nothing will. Am I the only one who thinks this is a problem or am I just bias?

  Because I know someone who reacts to perfumes, I have seen the effects that perfumes can cause to people. And I personally dislike the smells of perfumes and colognes. So I ask: Should perfumes be banned? rather I should say: Should offensive fragrances be banned? This could leave room for people to still wear perfume, just not the overpowering offensive kind.

I've heard quite a bit about the money the contractor. It might be easy to think that the owner should keep the money but I think the "King Solomon" approach might be better. Each side gets half. After all the homeowner wouldn't have the money if not for the contractor, but the contractor wouldn't have found it if the homeowner didn't hire them.

With all the worry about led toys and protecting children I must point out a simple irony. Kids use led pencils, something that need at a place they must go to, school. I don't know if their is some impurity that makes pencil led safe or something of that nature. Figured I would just point that out.

A teacher in Sudan was arrested and now in prison because her students named a teddy bear "Mohammad".

After hearing of Tower City banning anyone under 18 I couldn't help but consider the following scenario occurring.

 

      After the shopping centers that have banned teens and achieved peace. Other places follow suit. Now anyone under 18 has few places to go, and to many places they must be. Although free to walk or drive where they please, no place to allow them in nor serve them. So they are practically bound to their home and school, given no freedom. After a time, tensions rise and large groups of teens gather and become violent due to the discrimination. Large amounts of damage is done to property during the riots, many teens are arrested, hurt, and a few killed by the large mob.

 

 I really couldn't imagine much of what would happen after that. But I present that hopefully unlikely scenario for consideration. Perhaps you can put yourself in the shoes of those being affected by such a ban.
 

Looking at the world today, Islamo-fascist (as Glen Beck calls it) taking over the middle east, a war in Iraq and Afghanistan, tension rising with Iran, turkey threatening to enter Iraq, hunger in Africa, pandemics threataning and the general state of hell the world appears to be in. I must ask. Do you think World War 3 is near? or rather yet, Do you think Armageddon is near?

This is the straw that breaks the camel's back. 

During Military funeral services the American flag is folded into a triangle. It is folded 11 times to make the triangle. Each of the folds has a symbolic meaning the last of which represents God.  Here is what breaks the camel's back,..... guess what it is yet.

in a manner of speaking. The ceremony can still be preformed, just by a family member or somebody else, not a member of the military (not sure to what extent).

If they are going to make a big fuss about this, they can at least give the option to the family of what the meaning of the last fold is.

 When I heard this story, I saw the flagged folded at my grandpa's funeral, I wondered just what kind of foul comment he would have had for the people who led to this. From what I understand it was the complaint of 1 person.
