Weird!

Organized Religion causes people to do strange and destructive things- like arrest teachers for the innocent actions of their students.

There is no such thing as Allah, There is no such thing as Mohamed (if he even was real, he is dead now like everyone else who died in the past)

Just insane. Arresting a teacher for naming a teddy bear.

She got what she deserved. She should have known better. Not that I am a sympathizer with Islam, but if you live there, you know better. If you live here, there's certain things you don't dare say either. You think you have freedom of speech here? Do you think you are any freer here?

That is the way it is in Islamic countries. They have no tolerance. They have been rounding up Christians in the Sudan for years. They kill the men, and sell the women and children for slaves. I’m sure you have read all the press releases from the National Organization of Women (NOW) protesting these evil deeds against women and children who suffer so.

Just another Example of why Government and Religion do NOT mix!

Religion and Government should be absolutely seperate! "There should be a Wall of Seperation between Church and State"-Thomas Jefferson

Secular government's work better and are more just on average than Theocracies- be it Christian or Muslim theocracies.

The last time church and state mixed, people were burned at the stake.

I saw a bumper sticker that said something like that today and I found myself thinking how true that is. And it's happening again with whoever the Republicans hate this week.

Polar_Bear – I must have missed the video and news articles. Can you direct me to the stories I missed about Republicans burning Americans at the stake? That seems like something the Liberal media would have relished selling on their stations and in their papers.

I didn't explain it very well. The Republicans/Christans Religious Right are mixing religion into government and it's hurting us. A good example is W letting his ridiculous RELIGIOUS BELIEFS influence his decision on LIFE SAVIGN stem cell research. But with the recent science that has been in the news, it's not so much of an issue anymore.

But, we still have people like Huckabee that want RELIGIOUS STORIES taught in SCIENCE CLASS. Also, who can forget all the homophobic and xenophobic laws and BS used by the Republicans.

Some good points. I think the danger is when we forget that in this great country of ours we are a democracy and NOT a theocracy like Iran, Iraq, etc...thank goodness! But if we keep dimming the line of separation of church and state - that's just what will happen.

I am 19 years old, a raised Catholic but Agnostic and I work at a bowling ally as a pinchaser (also known as a pin monkey). My hobbies include reading manga, playing chess in which my ELO rating is 1135, watching anime, messing with technology although my internet slang vocabulary is rather poor, and I am a 4th Kyu (green Belt) in Traditional Chinese Kenpo where I am also participating in Shoot-fighting. I intend to teach Karate for a living. I'm not the kind of person to boycott, protest or march because of something, whether or not I believe in it. However I would like to note that I have been boycotting McDonald's since August 2007, I intend to continue until they offer the regular menu at all hours. My website is http://jinchu.weebly.com/
