Why did the URL for Fox 35 change to "MYfoxorlando.com"? For that matter, why is the new 65 going to be called "MY" 65?

Isn't "MY" overused enough in our computers? Hasn't attaching "MY" to EVERYTHING, regardless of whether there's actually anything personal about it, become hackneyed and passe?

I see no reason why "MY" applies to a network. Maybe if they managed to deliver customized content and individualized broadcasts, "MY" might apply. Yet for now, it seems as much "THEIRS" as any other major network, no matter what a hackneyed and worn out marketing strategy might try to imply.

"MY"foxorlando. "MY" 65. My goodness....

The ism’s of the time that we live in. It is all about I, Self, and Me!

LOL... I had thought this blog to have been ignored and swept into the corridors of anonymous time!

Yes... exactly part of the point I was addressing. "MY" everything. It was marginally acceptable when dealing with things which were actually YOURS in computer-ese (e.g. "MY computer", "MY documents") but now it's being applied to the FOX website (which is not "MINE" since it has no truly customizable features) and even a new network - which is completely impersonal!

I get the vision of a number of marketing types sitting in a room, fresh from being inculcated with the vernacular of the time, saying "hey, let's call it MY Fox Orlando! It will make people feel a sense of personal ownership" and all the bobblehead executives agreeing more from inertial thinking than from any real sense of enlightened thinking.... :-/

On my business card, it says "Renaissance Man". That sums it up somewhat succinctly...
