Have you noticed all the purple ties on tv this past week?

I've noticed time and time again just about every anchor and reporter on FOX news has been wearing purple.

I figured maybe they were trying not to wear the typical red power tie on purpose. We all know the usual red, white and blue is not just patriotic... but red and blue have party ties. I figured FOX was doing their best to not just report and then let you decide... but also look fashionably neutral.

Just when I thought it was just FOX I realized it was everybody.

Most of the big network anchors are not terribly trendy. They wear the basics of red, white, blue, and black all the time. When you see Brian Williams and Charlie Gibson in a purple tie you start to take notice.

After all this deep thinking --- I googled purple ties and came up with a story someone else wrote for the New York Times about the purple tie phenomenon.
Apparently purple is the new neutral for not just fox but everybody. It's a mix or red and blue for both parties and therefor a symbol of neutrality.
S0- what do you think? Does the outfit matter? Does it give an air of fairness?

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) -- Sources close to the investigation confirmed late Wednesday that ‘significant levels’ of chloroform were found in the car used by Casey Anthony - the same car that was found abandoned that investigators said contained traces of human decomposition.
Sources also said that one of the computers taken as evidence from the Anthony home showed that someone had been searching for information on chloroform and how to use it.
Chloroform was developed in the mid-1800s and was mainly used as an anesthetic. Inhaling chloroform vapors depresses the central nervous system of a patient, causing dizziness, fatigue and unconsciousness allowing a doctor to perform simple surgery or other otherwise painful operations.
