I went back to college this week and discovered that old fashion dating is out.
College students tell me it's all about "hooking up" and having "friends with benefits".
Men and women are skipping courting each other & they're jumping straight into the sack--no strings attached. The college girls I spoke with, tell me they are totally cool with these arrangements.
But are they really??? Not if you ask Dr. Miriam Grossman, a psychiatrist at UCLA. She says women are often left hurt and confused after a sexual hook up. According to Grossman, when women have sex, they release a hormone that promotes bonding/feelings of attachment. She says that's why women have such a difficult time after sexual hookups.
So why do women continue to engage in such risky behavior? Well, Grossman says political correctness is to blame for so many women acting promiscuously. The PC message being that women are equal to men and therefore, can sleep around just like men. But Grossman says women are NOT EQUAL to men.
What do you think? Is political correctness to blame for so many sexual hook ups? Are women more vulnerable than men when it comes to sex?
And what about guys....why don't they get attached? Or do they?
Tune in on Tues. Jan. 16th. at 10pm for a special report on sexual hookups.
