This is a pro Ron Paul piece, but the stats are not doctored. It shows internet search trends and media coverage trends.

If people had been voting for him, maybe he would have gotten more coverage. The media is not going to cover a candidate nobody wants. On the democrat side,Kicinich did not get much coverage for the same reason.

"If people had been voting for him, maybe he would have gotten more coverage."

Not hardly, he got more votes that Rudy, in almost every state, but they continued to cover him until he dropped out.

I have said this from the start. The news media picks Obama and Hillary over everyone else to promote. Each candidate should have the same amount of air time and coverage.

Please stop beating this dead horse. Ron Paul suspended his campaign because he and his campaign strategists realized that he could not win the Republican Party nomination. To put it in its simplest form, the voters did not want Ron Paul or any of the other candidates that were vying for the nomination. Whether the voters were correct or incorrect in their judgment is a moot point at this point in time. All of the continued whining and crying about Ron Paul is not going to change the fact that he is not going to be the Republican Party nominee.

I didn't think either one got enough votes to be a viable candidate. At least Guliani had some personality on camera, and had the grace to get out when it was apparent he was not going anywhere.Paul is a,well,I don't know what exactly. But I do know he is hurting the party with his idiot threats and retoric.

There's at least one fundamental flaw in this guy's argument: the number of YouTube videos matching a search term (i.e. "Ron Paul") does NOT necessarily equal popularity. It could mean one lunatic uploading thousands of Ron Paul videos. It could mean his supporters are more tech-savvy.

The media is not going to cover someone they don't want, with the exception the leading opposition such as McCain. Notice they are not telling American about the racist anti-American views that Obama, his wife and preacher share. They are not exposing the friendly relationship he has with Bill Ayers, who is proud to be a terrorist and enemy of the U.S. yet living in Illinois. So if the horrific possibility of Osama Obama winning becomes reality, please don't come crying about 40% of your paycheck going to the government in the form of taxes! Clinton did enough damage to my bonus checks, and yes I'm still thankful I get 67% of my bonus.

Ivyman, you have no idea what you are talking about. Ron Paul is still running, he has not suspended his campaign. That is the lie the media wants you to believe.

Alice, you missed the point. It isn't about YouTube videos, it is about Ron Paul being kept from the public by a complicit media. The Google stats are not about the videos, they are about internet search popularity in spite of intentional media blackout.

I don’t know much about Ron Paul but it is very true that the media does control whom they want you to vote for. Just look at Obama, a man from nowhere, came from nowhere, and who has done nothing. NBC is like his on personal TV station.

GRAYWOLF:

Maybe I misunderstood this news report.

Ron Paul Moves on From Presidential Campaign
March 06, 2008 7:33 PM

ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf reports: "Elections are short-term efforts," Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, told supporters in a Web video tonight. "Revolutions are long-term projects."

Paul indicated that the 2008 presidential campaign portion of his revolution is over.

An earlier version of this report indicated that Paul would "drop out" of the race. In the video, Paul did not use the words "drop out," opting instead to say the campaign is "winding down," and he encourages supporters to still cast votes for him. But he referred to his campaign in the past tense.

Thank you AliceK for injecting, or attempting to inject a little sanity. What in the world does the number of Ron Paul YouTube videos indicate about anything other than the number of Ron Paul YouTube videos? Oh, hey, I hear AT&T has found that 95% of all texts contain the letters R & P. (Ron Paul) J&M, H&C, and B&M only appear in 30% of texts. See, there it is! Ron Paul should be president, he's obviously the most popular candidate! The media robbed him! Why hasn't the media done a story on Ron Paul's YouTube video count? CONSPIRACY!
Uh-huh.

I like to play devil's advocate. You will often find me using Socratic irony, just for fun. Comments to posts aren't necessarily my position on a subject. I like to try to make people think of the other side of the issue. Don't read anything into my statements. If I didn't state it, I probably didn't mean it that way!
