At what point does Tony realize building Izzy's confidence is costing them games they should win....so is the last one now 4 or 5 blown saves? I am no expert but it seems something needs to change...!

Hey how about having Larry Walker pitch in the game and Izzy can pitch batting practice?

Hey Figman how's it going?

I think I could do what Izzy has done....!

Doing well have a good business year.

Izzy will be benched as a closer and be given some "think tank" time. He's only down mentally and sometimes that's tougher to repair than an injury.

He needs to be put in when (if) we have a 4 or 5 run lead, between the 6th and 8th innings, and possibly only as a reliever to a right hander.

By the end of the year he'll get his 8 or so saves to reach his milestone and these blown saves will be forgotten. Actually blowing saves is a third of what closers do.

Keep your head up Izzy and come on Cardinals - score more than just 3 or 5 runs!

Hey there Lance....how have things been going for you? I agree that Izzy is down (and possibly out) but he has the ability to get his 300th save.

Last night was a solid example that it's not necessarily the pitching that's killing us but the lack of run support. If we can score 6 runs by the 9th inning we'll be at the .750 level for wins.

When we've score 3 or less runs (excluding last night) we have lost. In last nights "schooling" the Pirates setup man blew it for the closer therefore opportunity knocked. Out of 3 (7, 8, & 9) innings we only produce 1 run (Pujols solo HR) while the Pirates mustered up 5 (including extra innings).

Run support along with above average pitching will wins games all the time...ok, nearly all the time. Go Cards!

Remember when Ankiel had "Mental-Pitching" problems?...Now look what a great Hitter/Fielder he is...maybe Izzy should rotate out....

I think Izzy will be a fine reliever for a few games then close out some on a rotational basis with Franklin and possibly Springer.

Hey AnswerMan....WRONG!!!!!!!! Your Mental Giant Blew It Again!!!!!!

LOL...na there's been no think tank time. They need to keep him completely away from pitching for about a week or so. And, if you noticed I did mention a 4 or 5 run lead also.

His mental levels are just above yours. Give him that 10 day mental break and he'll be fine. Putting him in was a huge mistake and keeping him in after that throwing error hurt.

So, do we blame LaRussa or Izzy...or both?

Ok. In 10 days after his break we will all be hearing you say give him another 10 days. He'll be fine. you are just as big of a loser as he is to believe in him. But you are probably a Rams fan also. I guess losers need fans also!!

Man Twisted - you sound twisted...are you BUI? So Answerman is a loser because....??? he doesn't agree with you? I dealt with know-it-alls for 12 years in politics and it's amazing how truly shallow they are.

I would hope that you just had a bad day(s).

LOL true. I find that when people feel outdone or inferior they create a shield and go on the defensive. I just ignore certain comments in order to retain my level of intelligence. By the way, I think I can LOL at the BUI comment.

Uh...go to MLB.com for more information and the person's name is Jason Isringhausen of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Answerman: I agree with your comments - at some point in time you just have to turn your head and press MUTE!

For all you Einsteins talking about Isringhausen - he is now on 15 day DL for hand laceration - wonder what happened with that one? Do you think he went home with a steak knife and pulled a Mike Matheny?
