Look at the brightside "they" created 5 million new jobs. "They just don't mention the fact the exported 12 million jobs and imported 12 million replacement workers do "they".

Lance - isn't it amazing how those numbers have changed dramatically. I would like to see the correlation between those numbers and industries with the actual pay levels of the CEO's then and now.

I didn't see any comparison of how ... uh um ... insurance rates have gone up and how about that little company called Ameren. I could calculate that in 1999 my bill was around $36 for gas/electric and almost 10 years later it's $361.

Good blog brother.

Our auto insurance rates are about 20% more and that has been in the last 2 years. One of the big drivers of that is vehicle repair cost and the cost of defending claims. On the other hand our home rates in Missouri went up since then about 40% but this year are back down to levels near the 1999 rates. It is a crazy business.

As much as I dislike Ameren and their service, their rates here are not bad. I have a pretty standard 1600 sq. ft. ranch style house that in 1997 when they came to our area cost about $145 a month and we are all electric. That is up to about $160 now. I have addressed the Missouri Public Service Commission on two ocassions about their service.

Speedster...You're not going to dispute his figures?

I guess it wouldn't help your cause. If it makes Bush look bad, it's ok...

According to these figures the dollar amount gas has increased is 320% since 1999. The price per barrel has increased 630%. If the price per gallon increased at the same rate as the barrel we would be paying $6.30 per gallon.

The price of milk in 1999 seems a very high figure. I think your figure is about $1 too high. I don't know about your other figures if they are or are not correct.

hoghd23: Why would I do that? He's got a reputation for being precise and professional therefore trust/respect are there! As for helping Bush look bad - no one needs to do that but himself.

Lance: Yeah, AmerenIP and AmerenUE are ages apart (lucky you) in their charges. I live about 140 miles away from you - O'Fallon IL area. They are gouging us here.

As for insurance, my auto and home have gone down because of some recommendations from agent and also higher deductibles.

It is easy to do the research on the internet. I also believe we have not seen the affect of the $105 per barrell oil at the pump as yet.

Speedy - thanks for the kind words.

I have always known there is a big difference between Mo and IL in their prices but I don't understand it.

Sorry but since Democrats need to draw attention away from their own party infighting I must say.
I wonder if the Democrats have any idea just how stupid they are? They had the White House for the taking. They could have put the first black man in, anything they wanted, even Boso the clown. But because they were so stupid and as usual could not leave things alone. They first started with the rules of their own primary and made sure the party could not make up it's mind, who they wanted to lead. Now they are going to start to FIGHT all the way to the convention. They will tear the party apart because of the two people they have. I feel confident this party is fighting for it's IDENTITY. So while they fight, my GOP now has a slim chance for the WIN. That got me so excited I started acting like a crazed Democrat. I am OK NOW. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

Here is a chart the is even more depressing. Look closely at the 1980 line. Bubba be careful who you blame. Looks like the Republicans started the price gouging.

i am not defending the ceo pay but if i spent time and money to get an education then would you think i would like a return on my investment of my time and money spent getting an education? bill gates did not get where he was at today by sitting in front of the boob tube and drinking a beer.
