Let me just put my two cents in about how I feel about kids and the internet. children loose the ability to use much needed critical thinking skills when using the internet. Without critical thinking skills they won't be able to solve problems. Much of the information on the internet is not the truth anyway so who is to say that our kids will learn better. I don't know I may be wrong but it's how I feel.

OMG...those numbers are scary.

My girls are 12 & 13 and they dont have cellphone or myspace pages....I'm doing what I can as a parent...not to shelter them but TEACH them and guide them to what's important...like READING. I WILL ask their principal and the school board that question!

Thanks for that video!

Erin, I've seen this video before and it is fantastically made.

I love the laptop for every child concept. I saw a special on it and how they will connect the children to the world to allow them learning opportunities they currently don't have. If you get a chance watch it.

It's also great to have an international classroom at your fingertips. We did that to some extent at Univeristy of Phoenix. It is very interesting to hear the views of those from Greece, Great Britian, India, etc.

What up Everyone!

Perk-a-licious...baby...I don't have your pitcher and cup girl! LOL...are you sure you left it at my house??

K ~ It's NOT warm here...LOL! I woke up to ALOT of snow this morning. Then the sun came out and the mountains were visible again. But about an hour later the clouds covered them back up and it started to snow some more. Oh well. Maybe they'll call a late start on base tomorrow...LOL.

Oh and girls...I'll be sure to let Meeko know he's got a bunch of chics fighting over him...LMAO!

Glad you all enjoyed the video. It is quite an eye-opener.

Hugz!

~E

It's just me...Erin G. I'm married with 4 kids and two cats. My hubby and I just moved to Colorado Springs, CO. The Army said go, so it was bye-bye Scott AFB, hello Ft. Carson. Oh but it was hard to leave! In the 3 years we were in Illinois/St Louis Metro area I met so many wonderful people, got to meet Rachael Ray with Randi Naughton from Fox, became a Bloggette (WOOT WOOT!), met so many others from Fox 2 and the blogs and forged everlasting friendships (girls, ya know who you are!), and last but not least, became an STLMom. So it is without hesitation that I can and will say that I truly loved my time in the St Louis metro and I will certainly miss each and every one of you who have been a part of my life the last three years! Just remember...it's never goodbye...just see ya lata! So until we meet again...BLOG ON my friends! Peace, Love and Hugz!
