Sins of our fathersAfter much thought, 1500 years, and waiting for a response from God, the Vatican has updated its Seven Deadly Sins.  

The original offences and their punishments

Pride: Broken on the wheel
Envy: Put in freezing water
Gluttony: Forced to eat rats, toads, and snakes
Lust: Smothered in fire and brimstone
Anger: Dismembered alive
Greed: Put in cauldrons of boiling oil
Sloth: Thrown in snake pits

 

  New Seven Deadly Sins

1.``Bioethical' violations such as birth control
2. ``Morally dubious'' experiments such as stem cell research
3. Drug abuse
4. Polluting the environment
5. Contributing to widening divide between rich and poor
6. Excessive wealth
7. Creating poverty

Is this revision directed at President George W. Bush?
And do priest have there own list of Seven Deadly Sins, because I did not see “Child Molestation as a sin?

I'm not Catholic but IMO there should be no reason to even have to list sins but since ppl are stupid they have to be written out and taught to us like we are babies learning our a b c's.

I'll just stick to what God has said in the Bible, and "POLLUTING the environment" sure ain't there.

"creating poverty"... ah ha, socialism! Don't vote for the Dems then.

"excessive wealth"! What rubbish! Who would decide that?... the catholic church or government? geeeeez

So the Vatican can update the list of deadly sins now? Are they now going to reprint all the Bibles now? Are they going to burn all the previous ones? Yea and why did'nt they add"perversion" to their little list?

The new deadly sins include polluting, genetic engineering, being obscenely rich, drug dealing, abortion, pedophilia and causing social injustice.

And, if I were a betting man (and I'm not), I'd say this is just the beginning of "adjustments" this Pope will be making.

As for the Bible, the Catholic version is already quite different in several areas.
