Sins of our fathersAfter much thought, 1500 years, and waiting for a response from God, the Vatican has updated its Seven Deadly Sins.

The original offences and their punishments

Pride: Broken on the wheel
Envy: Put in freezing water
Gluttony: Forced to eat rats, toads, and snakes
Lust: Smothered in fire and brimstone
Anger: Dismembered alive
Greed: Put in cauldrons of boiling oil
Sloth: Thrown in snake pits

  New Seven Deadly Sins

1.``Bioethical' violations such as birth control
2. ``Morally dubious'' experiments such as stem cell research
3. Drug abuse
4. Polluting the environment
5. Contributing to widening divide between rich and poor
6. Excessive wealth
7. Creating poverty

Is this revision directed at President George W. Bush?
And do priest have there own list of Seven Deadly Sins, because I did not see “Child Molestation as a sin?

Sory, but the vaticanT can kiss where the sun doesn't shine and I don't mean me elbows either! The bible is the only book where sins are listed by the rules God set down and you are to take nothing from or add to it. So the VaticanT just violated this and committed a sin uopon themselves by adding in "new" ones.

Sorry VaticanT, but you need to DISCIPLINE YOURSELF because YOU just committed a CARDINAL SIN!

I think #6 is funny myself, have you seen all the gold in vatican city...I guess they dont have to take a vow of poverty if they live like a king as a priest

Ya know.. the next thing the Pope is going to do is tell us that God has given him the power of the line item veto!! Only way to overide it is 2/3rds of a Cardinal vote!

Polluting the enviroment? So now I'm confused... Does the Pope endorce the Kyoto Accord? Is it just the national enviroment or the whole planet.... American leaders stop at the waters edge and could care less about China or India.
