I have had it with these damn celebrities and the doublesided legal system that we accept when it comes to celebs. First punch target is towards the underage drug addict and alcholic Lindsay Lohan. Now, we all clearly know that had any of us regular working class folks were caught with being under the influence of  alcohol or drug substance, our asses would of been hauled into jail, not home, NO INFAMOUS REHAB....BUT SIMPLY JAIL. This has not been true for these celebs. She could of killed someone or herself. This is her fourth time. We all see the big PINK elephant. But we all go about as if its just entertainment news.  End of story....

Next,  is one of my favorite celeb,  Paris Hilton. Now although she is of legal age. She also has been with her share of the law. But like she states..'the police stops me and just ask me out or for my phone number'.  Well that may be true. But how do you get time serve and you have not did any time yet? She is another one that could of had some other crazy and misfortune outcome....but it is what it is....They were found being under the influence of alchol and was able to simply, go home....or go to the INFAMOUS REHAB!...End of story....

Jerry Buss.....mmmmmmm? Major money....Major major money.....mmmmmm? Drove a few blocks down the street. Was pulled over by police and was able to go home and do a bogus apology stating he would never do that again...But he was drunk. He just got caught this time...How many others quit drives has he done? End of story....

In 1994 my oldest son at the time was only five years old. It was during Christmas day. We had family and friends over for the festivs. My son was attempting to go out into the front yard to show are next door neighbor his new bike. As everybody was in the front part of the house. I was attending to my then two year old son in the bedroom when I heard screaming, screaming and the family showing much fear of what we though had happen. Yes,  there was my five year old, spread out in the middle of the street from getting hit and thrown 20 ft. My brothers and husband at the time took off after the driver  who had made it  his business  to drive on the sidewalk. Thank god...My son survived....Hes eighteen years old now...Driver was never caught....

Thats why Im wondering why I have not heard or seen anyone come forward and state their pist offness....Contact me...I will do a story.......Where are you MADD.....?

HELLO , I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU . I THINK PARIS AND LINDSAY SHOULD BE PUT IN JAIL WITH ALL THE OTHER INMATES EXACTLY THE WAY ANYBODY ELSE WOULD BE . IF THEY GET BEAT UP , OH WELL , IT COULD HAPPEN TO ANYBODY . IT'S THE PRICE THE NON CELEB. WOULD HAVE TO PAY . IF THESES YOUNG CELEBRITIES GET AWAY WITH THIS OVER AND OVER THEY WILL CONTINUE TO DRIVE UNDER THE INFLUENCE EVEN IF THEY KILL SOMEONE !

yes! I agree with you too. SEND THEM TO JAIL.
NO ONE SHOULD GET AWAY WITH BREAKING THE LAW!
I don't care how much money they have. They are wrong and need to pay for their crimes.

THE LAWS IN OUR NATION APPLY TO EVERYONE!
YOU BREAK ONE, THEN SHUT-UP AND DO THE TIME!
PAY FOR YOUR MISTAKES- NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE.

When my boys were growing up I used to try to cover everything that could possibly happen verbally. I talked to them about everything, its very important. I tried to cover what to do if someone grabbed them, the correct names for body parts so that they wouldnt be emberassed to tell me if something was wrong. I also talked to them about drinking and driving. I stressed that when and if ever they had been drinking to call me. No matter if it was before they were of age or not. We could deal with that after I picked them up and they made it home safely. I would rather have them call me no matter what time it was or where they were. To not jeopardize their safety or any one elses. That rarely does a drunk driver get hurt they usually hurt other people and not to risk it. I would rather be mad at them for drinking, than be devastated because they died.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving - they are still around???

You know this society has become so celeb focused that only "real" issues with celeb backing get attention. As many times as some of these celebs have been caught regular folks would be already serving a sentence. Its not fair and I wouldn't mind starting my own group called People Against Celebrity Drunk Driving. Pronounced "Packed" respectively. Dont anybondy steal my name - its a work in progress!!!

My son was killed because a man didn't follow the rules. Then he tried to hide behind a barn. [Taft Ca] Told the police that he witnessed the accident. Someone there thank you JESUS. Someone spoke up. My son died on impact the other guy had been drinking, speeding w/o brake lights, turn signals, driver's license, green card which meant no insurance. So maybe we start our own Program. Maybe we use this here blog and save a few kids. Maybe we just help someone?
too much for some people but wrks4me's Father is writing a book on losing a child. Wow wish I couuld. But anyway something to bug all of you about since we know damn well Paris or Lindsay will not serve the right punishment for the crime. Be safe

Our jails are so overcrowded that people are not doing their full sentence. My grandaughter (by marriage) commited grand larceny a few years back. (she was stealing peoples wallets from their purses while they were bagging their groceries) When she went to court she got a year. She was actually in jail for 1 month. Last year sometime we heard that she attempted to rob someone at knife point. This time she will be in prison until 2008.
These were not her first scrapes with the law.
Why is it that some people get sentenced to lots of time while others do much worse and may ger just a few years.
In Washington State back about 20 years ago, they had an habitual offenders law. I personally think it was a much better law than our 3 strikes law. This was if you commited the same crime 3 times then you were looking at a very long time, so it could hold some hope for the people that might actually learn from their mistakes.
With 3 strikes sometimes during 1 crime 3 felonies might be commited. So where do they go frm there?
I agree with all of you that the law is the law and all men should be treated equal.

thornyone, thats because the three strikes law was originally created to target one particular group of people. You would be surprised or maybe you wouldnt what programs they have in place for certain crimes.....its ridiculous. Yes, this state does need to do something. I was in a car accident in 2005 by someone with no insurance, you know what he did? He went back to Mexico to avoid prosecution. Couldnt even get him in court once. Look at all the celebs with drug problems that society props up on its bosom and while they continue to use drugs and work making movies, TV shows, radio shows and such.....we need more than a People against Celebrity drunk driving group, we need a group to help out us little people when they are affected by drivers who are not only illegals but have no insurance, no registration, no responsibility but yet are driving and causing a lot of heartache and money problems for people.

Thanks to those who have taken the time to hear my venting and hopefully kick some things off in a positive way. Scooch, sorry for your lost. These are the very reason that no one should be above the law in no matter. No, this is not a fair playing field. Yes Naylah, we have issues with immigration and the pros and cons of how to handle it.It did suck that he was able to go back home to Mexico and you ended up taking the hit for your car. But you know, the goverment has allowed many things to take place out of meer greed. Again, illegals have been here for ever and a day. Its just now effecting the higher class. Now, the situation is in full combustion and things are totally out of hand. Had you died, how much justice would you think you would of had? Would they had entered Mexico to retrive him? My complaint with illegalism is I don't care how one handles their money, send it back home,so what. Pay your taxes, get license, learn english, become a citizen within a certain guide line, having some kind of clause about crossing back over to the border..I don't know really. Thats just my opinion. we have enough jobs in California, but when you start telling people that you need or must speak spanish to get a job, then theres a problem. Mexico is not changing no wording to fit my english needs. Isn't that the reason they come. A better living..The American Dream? Naylah, patton your phrase its catchy we probably can use it later, never know...Ask yourselves this...Those three teens that was traveling behind a SCHOOL BUS, they say they were throwing beer cans out of the car wh

continuing....Teens throwing beer out of a car while racing behind a SCHOOL BUS, mmmmmmm, whos on the bus? Hello teachers, assistants. Those kids were able to do all of that behind a SCHOOL BUS? Is that PINK Elephant there again? Had they been caught by police, would they had gone to REHAB?

Those kids from Peris High School were racing against another car and they were way ahead of the bus when it crashed. Its a shame, a crying shame that teens everyday seem to think that they are invincible and nothing bad is going to happen to them. AGAIN WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY??

Club owners and club promoters encourage young attractive underage celebs, models, and young people totheir clubs...until law enforcement and the LA Mayor see that these clubs prey on underage young people and its an accepted behavior in LA nothing will change. As a mother of a underage model, I have had my battles to keep my daughter from the clutches of these predators. The younger, the attractive people attract more business and revenue to their club, the beautiful people, a place to be and to be seen! These kids don't even need a fake I.D. the club owners and promoters know them by their first names and know they are underage and drinking. I would love to see law enforcement and our Mayor go and see first hand what truly goes on inside LA clubs...its a parents worse nightmare!

Where is MADD? They're over at Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard's office conveniently ignoring the drunk driving illegal aliens on our streets. That's where. Not a peep!!

Where is MADD concerneing the DUI situation with Dr. Jerry Buss? Where? Their credibility is waning. Did Jerry Buss have a valid drivers license and proof of insurance?

Hey I just spotted I believe the Chief of MADD or whatever you want to call her - on Nancy Grace last week and it totally slipped my mind. She was commenting on the Lindsey Lohan case - so I guess MADD has gone star crazy as well because they do not seem to be ADDRESSING the issue and pushing for a solution if you ask me...

I had to do some research for a presentation last semester and I was totally surprised to find out that the original founder of MADD left the organization because of its anti-drinking agenda as opposed to an anti-drinking and driving agenda. So I am at a loss for reasons why they don't get up on their "soapboxes" now when they have the greatest targets to use as a wake-up call to America to stop the madness! I agree with DfDeportation, their credibility is in the toilet as far as I'm concerned.

To Scooch and any other parent that has had to suffer this horrible loss, my prayers are with you that you will find a way to make a difference when it comes to this issue. MADD sure isn't.
