Global warming, now called climate change by  many scientists, is continuing to melt LARGE ice sheets in the Antarctic. Check out the article below.

I was watching Charlie Rose last night and his guest was a spokesman for Chevron Oil.  The interview was mostly a long PR segment for Chevron and not a very good discussion about energy alternatives. Chevron's man repeated "we must drill for new oil" countless times. However, during the Chevron commercial the oil executive announced what Chevron's official position on global warming is. Chevron believes global warming is real, is due to high levels of CO2 in the earth's atmosphere, and the problem is man made.

I nearly fell off my chair!  Did you hear that global warming nay sayers?  Chevron Oil, a BIG OIL company agrees that global warming is real and is caused by human activity.    Another  global corporation accepting reality.  There may be hope for the human race after all.

Please take the time to read the facts about the Antarctic here...http://icecap.us/index.php/go/political-climate/
P6/

Never hurts to hear both side of the DEBATE, does it?

While you're at it, take the time to read about the ridiculous bias in the media involving 'Global warming' coverage, here...

Mickie,

Do you realize that all those pictures of the ice melting were taken in the months of August and later? Do You know what that means in the Southern Hemisphere? Let me give you a big hint: it's the time of the year when it's getting warmer...HELLO???? Just like when it's February over here??? The things the global warming propagandists are hiding from the public to push their agenda...I smell a rotten carcass here! Anything can sound true at first until the other side comes out to set the record straight...remember that. Which drum are you going to bang on?

Woops...hang on...I stand corrected! I was looking over some of my previous notes I had collected which also had to do with global warming...some images taken in the Southern Winter months...late winter around August, where the ice just starts melting near Springtime. But still, it was part of the hot summer, where things will still melt even in the colder climates. But still, a lot of what I said still stands...I'm curious if you did at least see the stuff ibejim referred you to, and what drum are you going to bang on, if you'll pardon the expression? (I know you're a drum major, so I hope you have a sense of humor with it.)

Mr E , just copied a blog I did from Philly to the myfoxla news tab. Has to do with the measures these idiotic warmers are pushing and how it affects the world food supply. Something tells me that this is only the tip of the warmer iceberg (no pun intended).

And for what...A freakin theory?

A sad commentary indeed!

I cannot wait for the Oceans to rise say 750 feet it is at that time I feel the rich, the Politicians, and all their Nay sayers about the warming SHOULD BE MADE SALVES!!!!

Cannot wait; it should happen before 2012 for me; but maybe not until 2112?

In close, sure things cycle like summer or winter; in the mean, explain to us WARmers why what about 66% of Global Glaziers GONE?!

Fn idiots like to see your stock portfolio...

From Gordon Fulks...

"As a physicist, let me point out that our understanding of climate was not “settled more than a decade ago,” as global warming alarmists argue. Science is never settled, as Albert Einstein spectacularly demonstrated. Our knowledge of the interplay between atmospheric carbon dioxide and global temperature has gone through three stages over the past 20 years. Al Gore correctly points out that early ice-core data gathered from glaciers around the world showed a very strong correlation between carbon dioxide and temperature over 650,000 years. Because carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, most of us assumed that it regulated global temperature. By 1999, improving ice-core techniques produced a stunning reversal, showing that the global temperature changed many centuries before carbon dioxide changed. This proved that natural climate cycles were causing changes in atmospheric carbon dioxide, probably by affecting how much remained dissolved in the oceans. Using new ice-core evidence, Caillon, et al. (Science, March 2003), concluded that “CO2 is not the forcing that initially drives the climatic system."

From Christopher C Horner...

Meanwhile, in the unnerving buildup to this outrage of a gathering, last week the alarmists started insisting that, by insisting a “consensus” exists, they never meant “consensus;” and alarmist professor John Holdren now ways that they never really meant “global warming” (or, presumably, the “global cooling” before that), but “global climate disruption.” Just rolls off the tongue.

No, this afternoon I spoke to the issue of the media’s hilarious contortions in the name of the global warming agenda. You read or hear it daily. A single year or weather event is newsworthy and meaningful, unless it’s the wrong kind. Individual research papers warrant coverage, and what coverage! when their results are alarmist. Otherwise, they’re just one paper! We have learned that three years is a pattern, unless it is on the cooling side of the ledger. We know that ten years is conclusive, unless you mean the past ten years of no warming. Unseasonably warm weather is clear evidence of global warming, exceptional cold is merely an anomaly. Warming temperatures, over whatever period the press chooses to muster, as well as retreating glaciers are sure signs of “global warming.” Cooling temperatures and advancing glaciers are signs of nothing.

This is progress, of course. Reality is increasingly forcing our media and other alarmist friends out of their comfort zones. As a graduate of Al Gore’s climate camp recently howled in protest during a debate with me at Michigan State, “no matter how many charts he shows you, it’s warming!” Of course it is, dear.

Chu, chu, chu...Changes! Global warming, Climate change, Global climate disruption???? Oh, and lets not forget 'Global cooling', or The 'up-coming ice age' that many warmers (like James Hansen) were railing about back in the 70's!

Perhaps someone will be able to write code for a "super" climate model that incorporates climate change data going back 4.5 BILLION YEARS!

Damn I wish that global warming would kick in already. This has been the coldest year in recorded history. Record cold EVERYWHERE. First time its EVER snowed in Baghdad. Record colds in China. Coldest (and rainiest) year on record in the United States since 1961.

How I long for the longer growing seasons so that there will be less starvation in the world and cheaper Ethanol prices.

Can somebody please tell Al Gore to talk to the weather gods? This is getting rediculous.

this aint, and Mystere,

Are you saying then that this oil company and the many other global corporations are buying into a lie? all of them? Most scientist are now calling global warming "climate change" because weather patterns around the world are changing to either hotter or colder extremes. As for the ice sheets at the South Pole melting. Those sheets have never fully melted before. These are new phenomena.

Buy the way even the Bush administration has finally admitted there is global warming. They just don't want to do anything about it.

ibejim,

"a freakin theory" it sounds like you don't know what a theory is. Examples: gravity is a theory, relativity is a theory.

Of course there's global warming, just like there was global cooling back in the 1970's. That's the way the world works. It heats up and it cools down. Libs like you were predicting we'd all die from a new ice age thirty something years ago.

How long have we been keeping track? About a hundred years (accurately) out of the billions of years before that. And most "legitimate scientists" agree that global warming will do more good than harm. I only wish that this freezing temperature would go away.

"Are you saying then that this oil company and the many other global corporations are buying into a lie?"

----------------------------------------------
Buying into a lie? No, there going to CAPITALIZE off a hoax. Just like algorp and his leigon of doom-sayers.

The fact is, the planet hasn't warmed in more than ten years. There is even satellite data that suggest that it may even be cooling slightly.

Most of these warmers base their doomsday scenarios off of data generated by climate models, and we all know that they are only as reliable as the data that the imperfect humans (who also assembled them) put into them. They are no different than weather models such as the GFS and NAM, and look how often these models are wrong.
