Institution of higher learning?

Art Major Aliza Shavart's Senior Class project, a documentation of a 9 month process in which she artificially inseminated herself as often as possible while periodically taking abortifacient drugs to induce miscarriages. Her goal, "was to spark conversation and debate on the relationship between art and the human body."

Her exhibition will include video footage of forced miscarriages as well as preserved collections of blood from the process.

Shavart explains her repeated self-induced miscarriages. The staff at "Yale's Women's Center" called Ms. Shavart's actions "an appropriate exercise of her right to free expression."

Your tax dollars at work at Yale University---every major institution of higher learning is the recipient of significant federal money, are the tax-payers being hosed?

Shouldn't we be expecting better than this?

Update: Is this story a hoax?

Yale University now is claiming, "The entire project is an art piece, a creative fiction, designed to draw attention to the ambiguity surrounding form and function of a woman's body."

The founders of Yale are not resting in peace at this moment; in fact, they must be furious now! What an insult to one of the finest institutions in our nation!
