After getting a good amount of ice to blanket our road yesterday, we get some snow to add to it! I will say the snow was a prettier sight then the ice was!

After the dusting melted yesterday. I woke up to more..

We recently threw a big 50th birthday party for our mother at my sister's house. I allowed my 5 year old to take a few pictures of the party thinking we would get a few interesting pictures, plus it was good entertainment for her at the time. When cruising through the pictures I found this one and it freaked me out. I circled the, what looks like a demon head. This is way more interesting than I expected!

Hi everyone! I woke up this morning around 7a.m., here in the middle of nowhere, to a small dusting. It has tappered off a bit. It has also melted a little in the last hour, if I have been hearing right, there is more to come. So I will have my camera ready! Have a safe and great day!

 Ike means serious business. What a fast mover! It is close to 5:30am here and he is here. It is hard to believe he arrived on the gulf coast yesterday! What a wake up call!

I can't find it on here. Not sure what channel I just saw it on, but I beleive it happened in the St. Louis area, and I could be wrong (my husband was channel surfing) But it showed this man getting hit and no one stopping. No one call 911.  I am so saddened by this! Are people THAT in a hurry that they can't stop and  help someone who just GOT HIT BY A CAR!!! OMG! I would of stopped right there and helped him! Or atleast called 911! Wow! What has this world come too!!! It is just sad..that is all I can say!

I am a newbie on here..since Saturdays storms, thank you so much for making me feel welcomed. I am so glad I joined, it seems like a great place to chat with people who are also as interested in the weather as I am. Anyone that knows me, knows when there is a chance for the weather to get severe, I am glued to the skies (not that I have any idea what I am looking at) and the news. I used to think being a storm chaser would be fun, but I became a chicken over the years, not to mention 2 small girls at home..kinda hard to just jump in the car and chase a dangerous storm *sigh*. I do enjoy the rush I get when a "real good" storm comes through.

So now I will be glued to the computer (this site), the skies and news this afternoon..well maybe not this afternoon, I believe my husband is gonna hog the computer, but I will have my camera ready, to get what "mother nature" brings us tonight! It seems like it is setting up for a wild night for "someone", hope everyone has a safe night!

 

 

May went out with a "BIG BANG" here in New Douglas, IL!!! My parents were over here from south St. Louis for a BBQ and enjoying the break from last nights storm...when Bammmm! We got hit!!! It was loud and came through with force!!! We had 1 inch hail , lightning, high winds! We lost a few trees, we have plenty to lose, thankfully we didn't lose the house or cars, but man our yard is a mess!!!! It was one to remember!!!!! ( I wish I wouldn't of  watched "The Mist" the other day the fog from this storm really messed me up.... lol)
