I'M OFTEN ASKED... "WHAT'S YOUR DAY LIKE?    SO... HERE IT IS ON T-DAY 2008.  A DAY IN THE LIFE:

FIRST OFF... HOPING YOURS WAS A GOOD ONE.  MINE STILL IN
PROGRESS.(10:30PM)   I'LL BE HEADING HOME FOR THAT FINAL PIECE OF PIE.   HEADING HOME AFTER WORK.  (NEWS HAS NO HOLIDAY)   I OPTED TO WORK AS.... 1.  A *DAY* OF GORGING ISN'T MY THING  2.  MY CO-ANCHOR HAS A LARGE FAMILY, SO BETTER HE HAVE THE DAY OFF THAN I  3.  WHEN WE WORK A HOLIDAY WE GET AN EXTRA VACATION DAY... WHICH I HAVE ALREADY BOOKED FOR JANUARY!!!  AS WE SIT HERE ON SET, THERE'S TALK OF TURKEY AND STUFFING.  STORE BOUGHT VS. HOME COOKED.   TURKEY BAKED IN A BAG, OR NO BAG.  WEATHER CASTER MARIA QUIBAN SLATHERS HERS WITH SOY SAUCE, FLOOR MANAGER BOB USES BARBECUE SAUCE.

TURKEY... HHHMMMM... *SOUNDS* TASTY.  WOULDN'T KNOW.  BY THE TIME I'D ARRIVED(6PM) FOR THE STATION POTLUCK THE TURKEY WAS GONE.  PLENTY OF ROLLS, WRITER STEPHANIE'S YAMS AND CRANBERRY SAUCE.   EDITOR CHERYL HAD ENOUGH PIES TO CARRY OVER TO THE CHRISTMAS POTLUCK.   MY BROCCOLI CASSEROLE WILL GO UN-EATEN AS, LIKE ANY GOOD THANKSGIVING, THERE WAS TOO MUCH FOOD.  I FILLED UP ON STUFFING AND POTATOES AND YAMS AND EGGNOG. (NOT TO WORRY.  I'D POPPED INTO WHOLE FOODS TODAY AND PICKED UP A FEW SLICES OF TURKEY FOR WEEKEND LEFTOVERS.)

MY MORNING STARTED OUT WITH TV... A CHECK OF THE MORNING'S NEWS... AND THEN THE MACY'S DAY PARADE AND A FLIP OF THE NEWSPAPER IN SEARCH OF BLACK FRIDAY SALES.   MY GUY IS CONVINCED HE'LL SNAP UP HIS FIRST H-D TV... I'M CONVINCED HE WON'T AS WE SAW PEOPLE CAMPING OUTSIDE OF BEST BUY AT 11AM THANKSGIVING MORNING... A WHOLE DAY EARLY.  THE MORNING ALSO MEANT PHONE CALLS TO FAMILY... GIFTS THIS X-MAS??? OR NO GIFTS(DUE TO THE ECONOMY)??  WE TALKED FEARS OF THE ANNUAL FAMILY FIGHT OVER THE X-MAS HOLIDAY.  WELL, ITS NOT REALLY A FIGHT... JUST THE VOLATILE COMBINATION OF ME, MOM AND SIS IN THE SAME ROOM.  THE URGE TO RESORT TO CHILDHOOD BEHAVIOR IS CONSTANTLY KNOCKING AT MY DOOR.

WITH THANKSGIViNG ABOUT OVER, I'M PREPARING TO PACK AWAY THE CERAMIC PUMPKINS MOM MADE YEARS AGO.  I ALREADY PUT OF A WREATH MADE BY A FRIEND.  AND I LOVE MY FIREPLACE STOCKINGS... WHO KNEW THEY CAME FROM "ROSS DRESS FOR LESS"!!!  THEY'RE FABULOUS!   ON BREAK AT WORK WE REHEARSED CHRISTMAS CAROLS AND REALIZED NONE OF US KNEW THE WORDS TO "THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS."  WE GOT THE "A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE" LINE... AND "FIVE GOLDEN RINGS!!!"   THE REST WAS A HODGE PODGE OF MIS-MATCHED LINES... AND HYSTERICAL LAUGHTER.

SO, ON THAT NOTE... I WRAP UP THIS BLOG.  I'M FILLING IN ON OUR SISTER STATION CHANNEL 13 NEWS AT 11PM.    HOPING YOU TOO WERE SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS OR FAMILY, GOOD FOOD, AND LAUGHTER.   FOR ALL OF THAT... I FEEL THANKFUL ON THIS T-DAY 2008.. AND WOULD LOVE TO HEAR A T-DAY ANECDOTE.

THIS WAS A TOUGH DAY FOR A LOT OF FOLKS.  PARTS OF INDIA ARE UNDER SIEGE.  FIRE SURVIVORS ARE STILL PICKING UP THE PIECES.   TRAGIC DROWNINGS AT PT. MUGU.     THESE TOPICS TOO WERE A PART OF MY DAY... AS, AGAIN, THERE IS NO HOLIDAY IN NEWS.  SEE YOU TOMORROW AT 10!

Christine,Wow you have a pretty exciting life. And your Holiday at Fox News Awesome!!!
I wish my day at work was that wonderful. I was with family.I went to various homes stopping for short visits and getting a little food along the way. Then I drove about 50 miles to my main engagement and had a ball eating food. Now I have plenty of lelf over for black friday. After the main dinner my lady and I went to see the movie "Australia".
I can't handle all that heavy Thanksgiving food so I just let the young Family members go for it. And of course they did.See you tonight at 10pm.Black Friday.
MERRY CHRISTMAS Christine!!!

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher has been vociferously criticizing President Bush for not pardoning two border patrol agents convicted of shooting Osvaldo Aldrete Davila, an admitted drug smuggler, in 2005 near the Texas-Mexico border.

Bush pardoned 14 people and commuted the sentences of two others Monday, but did not pardon Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos, who are serving sentences of 12 and 11 years in prison, respectively.

By allowing the men to serve prison time for firing at Davila, the administration is sending a message to all border patrol agents that they should not use their guns, even when they’re justified in doing so, according to Rohrabacher spokeswoman Tara Setmayer.

Ramos and Compean contended that they were shooting at Davila out of self-defense, and Rohrabacher thinks they were in the right, Setmayer said.

The agents were convicted of shooting an unarmed man and lying about it.

Since the very beginning of the men’s cases Rohrabacher and Setmayer have been staunch advocates for them, appearing on television and at rallies throughout the district.

“The fact that the president has neglected to free these men from their imprisonment while freeing drug dealers, embezzlers and other criminals is insulting to the American people who have been begging and pleading for the president to release the agents whose prosecution was unjust from the beginning,” Rohrabacher said in a written statement.

Christine,

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, even with all the crazy news around the world. I know that you are thankful for all the wonderful blessings you have in your life. When your big day comes, I hope it is very memorable for both you and your man. By the way, Al Naipo told me that I missed running into you and the others at the Yorba Linda Albertsons; he remembered some of my replies on his blogs.

We'll talk face to face at some public event in the near future. I look forward to your next blog, especially with Christmas coming around...we both know the reason for the season, right?

Take Care Now!

Christine Yes it was exciting seeing family that lives out of town come and we just enjoy each other.

The Movie Australia was excellence. All the scences were made there. The movie lasts about 3 hours counting the pre-views. I believe the movie is based on a true story. Nicole Kiddman plays an awesome role as a determined business Woman taking over her late husband's operation against a ruthless man who she fired and he is out for revenge. You should go see it.I found it amazing to understand that these events were based on actual happenings.
Yes I had a pretty good Thanksgiving time.

The best time to get holiday stuff is about august or the end of summer sales. Prices are not usually much lower than they are the day after TG and honestly speaking, the bargains can be found well after the holidays too. I am one of those who pick up the following years holiday season stuff (less the kids toys) for the next holiday season. Always with me, lots of cards to send out. At least I am helping to keep the post office people busy...gee, I hope nobody goes on a shooting rampage because of my extra cards!!!

Friends and family this cold evening and always glad to see them. We may political differences, but when it comes down to it, those go aside for this holiday as with others and we come together to sit, chat, have fun and enjoy the warmth and spirit of the holiday season and these special times we all share together.

The TG dinner wasn't too bad. Family and friends as usual, real Butterball Turkey, home made stuffing, a Washington D.C. (Whitehouse recipe) was carrots and parsnips roasted in a honey sauce, cranberry-orange relish, white garlic mushrooms in a garlic butter creme another very old traditional "old-American" recipe from a different age. Home baked biscuits with garlic butter and home doctored candied yams. For desert we had home made "Hungarian Butterhorn" cookies with coffee or Sherry for the ladies and "French Chocolates" decorated in holiday decor, also home made.

Watched a holiday tale "Hans Brinker" (probably the best ever holiday flick) on a widescreen HD TV...

Then exchanged cards and bonvoyage to everyone except the misses!

Mr. Obama: Don't Miss Next Week's Chicago Tribune -- Full-Page Citizenship Challenge To Run Twice, December 1st and 3rd
D.C. National Press Club Event: Dec. 8th
The Open Letter to Mr. Obama is a formal Petition for a Redress (Remedy) for the alleged violation of the "natural born citizen" clause of the Constitution of the United States of America. Mr. Obama is respectfully requested to direct the Hawaiian officials to provide access to his original birth certificate on December 5-7 by our team of forensic scientists, and to provide additional documentary evidence establishing his citizenship status prior to our Washington, D.C. press conference on December 8.
A First Amendment Petition to any official of the Government for Redress of a violation of the Constitution is substantially different from the garden-variety political petitions frequently received by government officials. This Petition demands it be given the highest priority for an expedited review and official Response by Mr. Obama.
American Patrol Report Comment – As we said earlier, the Obama team is moving to insulate him from the Constitution by creating an aura of the indispensable man. Let's see if the Supreme Court buys it.

More Arizona Republic Nonsense

November 30, 2008

Daniel Gonzales, reporter for the Arizona Republic, makes the argument that enforcing immigration laws hurts the economy (see 'Illegal workers manage to skirt Ariz. employer-sanctions law') .

Gonzales says: "There are no studies that estimate how many illegal immigrants have turned to cash-only work to survive in Arizona. But economists say one of the results is that much of the money immigrants earn is going unreported and untaxed."

Gonzales admits there are no studies to support the argument that illegal aliens and then refers to unnamed "economists" who say, "much of the money immigrants earn is going unreported and untaxed," as if someone had actually done a study. This is a cheap journalistic trick to prove a point with no proof.

Gonzales says illegal aliens are "borrowing" the identities of citizens or legal residents to land jobs with employers." Borrowing? Does a bank robber borrow the money from a bank?

"Several economists agree that a shift to the underground economy is probably taking place and is worsening Arizona's economic problems by further deflating income-tax revenues. The effect is adding to the state's $1.2 billion budget shortfall." Did these same economists say that American citizens benefit when illegal aliens are removed from the labor force?

Gonzales grabs a premise and then blows it all out of proportion with no facts to back him up. This is another example of the bias of the Arizona Republic in favor of lawlessness and open borders.

Schwarzenegger declares fiscal emergency, calls lawmakers into special budget session
By JULIET WILLIAMS , Associated Press

Just the beginning
California, the apex of this debt madness, will revise that 28 billion debt number much higher by next spring as credit losses of all types … read more and falling employment and falling home prices reign havoc across the bloated state payrolls and wasteful spending in general.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a fiscal emergency Monday and called lawmakers into a special session to address California's $11.2 billion deficit.

The state's revenue gap is expected to hit $28 billion over the next 19 months without bold action. The emergency declaration authorizes the governor and lawmakers to change the existing budget within 45 days.

The state is likely to run out of cash in February.

"Without immediate action, our state is headed for a fiscal disaster, and that is why ... I am wasting no time in calling a fiscal emergency special session," Schwarzenegger said in prepared remarks.

The Republican governor and Democratic lawmakers have proposed a combination of tax increases and spending cuts, but Republican lawmakers steadfastly refuse to raise taxes.

The same Fabian Nunez who keeps trying to get driver's licenses for illegals and who is anti cop. Google him and read about his views on the police and his pro illegal stance.

Fabian instead of supporting lawlessness all of these years (illegal immigration) you should have been teaching your son respect for life, the law and most importantly not to have or associate with people who carry weapons especially when drinking is involved!!!
