Did you hear about the four year old boy who shot his baby
sitter? I did not think it was true at first but a mistake or accident.
'"Witnesses told police the
4-year-old retrieved the shotgun from a bedroom closet and shot Beavers. Police
said the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot.
Beavers was hospitalized with
minor pellet wounds to his arm and side.'
I
just can not believe. What would make a 4 year old baby get a gun and shoot another person? How could he know how to use a gun? I just do not know what is the
matter that a parent would not make sure a little child could not get to a
gun. What will become of this little boy who could do such a thing?

I got this in an email and thought it very special.
Second Place Winner
Todd Heisler The Rocky Mountain News
"The night before the burial of her husband's body, Katherine Cathey refused to leave the casket, asking to sleep next to his body for the last time. The Marines made a bed for her, tucking in the sheets below the flag. Before she fell asleep, she opened her laptop computer and played songs that reminded her of 'Cat,' and one of the Marines asked if she wanted them to continue standing watch as she slept. 'I think it would be kind of nice if you kept doing it,' she said. 'I think that's what he would have wanted.'

Michelle Duggar just had a new baby girl,
which happens to also be her 18th child! The father, Jim, said the baby is a
gift from God and beautiful and I am sure she is too! And believe it or not Mrs.
Duggar said they would love to have more children!
I thought I came from a big family but we
cannot compare to this! Congratulation to the Duggars, but I am very happy we only
have our 4 children. I can not imagine having eighteen children, or dogs for that
matter! Can you imagine all the diapers she has changed!

Do you remember Johnny Walker Lindh who joined the Taliban to fight against
America? He got 20 years in prison for I think for treason, but now his parents
are asking President Bush for mercy and to give a pardon to their son. The
article says that his parents ' didn't help their son's case by slamming slain
CIA hero Johnny (Mike) Spann's father, who blames the Muslim convert for failing
to stop Spann's gruesome death in a 2001 Afghan battle".
I am sure these parents are heart broken about their sons incarceration and I hope for what he did, but
he did fight against his country. I thought we executed persons who committed
treason so he should be relieved to be jailed? I hope the Pres. does not
let this man go free. He did a terrible thing.

A friend told us about this school so I
looked it up. The University's president Mr. Bradshaw, is not only banning the
baby Jesus from campus but Santa Claus, Christmas trees and cards! "The
newspaper says FGCU administration has banned all holiday decorations from
common spaces on campus and canceled a popular greeting card design contest,
which is being replaced by an ugly sweater competition".
Pres Wilson said this was about "legal
limitations", what ever that means. He wanted to 'honor and respect all
traditions during the holiday and FGCU is no exception. The decision
was not an attempt to suppress expression of the holiday spirit." Not suppress
the holiday spirit, I think that is just what he has done!
I am sure the majority of people who do
not celebrate Christmas or religion do not mind that there are many who do and
decisions like this make them all look really bad.

This is from an email I was sent and found it interesting for thought:
Eugene Volokh blog, who's a law professor at UCLA.
"So, "Is Hillary Clinton Unconstitutional?" In a word, Yes -- or, to be more precise, a Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would be unconstitutional.
The Emoluments Clause of Article I, section 6 provides "No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been encreased during such time." As I understand it, President Bush's executive order from earlier this year "encreased" the "Emoluments" (salary) of the office of Secretary of State. Last I checked, Hillary Clinton was an elected Senator from New York at the time. Were she to be appointed to the civil Office of Secretary of State, she would be being appointed to an office for which "the Emoluments whereof shall have been encreased" during the time for which she was elected to serve as Senator. The plain language of the Emoluments Clause would thus appear to bar her appointment ... if the Constitution is taken seriously (which it more than occasionally isn't on these matters, of course)."

How about those Cowboys! My husband prefers
games that a close and hard fought, but I'm comfortable with the ones that aren't so close. I just like them to win.
I thought they was terrific
today. They not only played well, but Tony Romo was spectacular! What a touchdown!
Congratulations Dallas Cowboys! Let's go all the
way this year!

The attempted murder charges against the "Jena 6" have been reduced to aggravated second-degree battery and conspiracy to commit aggravated
second-degree battery. This case is about six young black men, beating up a
young white man, rather badly, because of nooses that were hung in a tree in the school yard! Very bad, in and of itself, but not warranting an attack. The white boy was badly hurt, but I don't believe it was life threatening.
It seems to me, that all these young men were all in the wrong. Maybe all of them
should a little time in jail and more time indulging in community service in
alternate areas of the town.

A young woman who was a high school valedictorian last year, said she was
told she wouldn't get her diploma unless she apologized for a commencement
speech, where she said that 'Jesus loved everyone.' She has just filed a lawsuit
alleging her free speech rights had been violated, by the school.
I don't know if she could win this law suite or not, but all
she did was mention God's love for humanity. She didn't use vulgar slurs or insult
other graduates. I just don't understand the schools reaction.
I know in our politically correct world this isn't very
acceptable, but I don't see how she did anything wrong. Was she in the wrong to mention the name of Jesus at graduation? Do you
think she could win a law suite against the school or not?
