Continuing with the Tarrant County questions.  Some have asked when the North Loop congestion will be addressed.  The good news is that relief (I use that word tentatively because "relief" actually means "BIG PAIN!" once the roadwork starts) could come as early as next year with the addition of 6 more lanes to the existing four lanes from the Grapevine Highway (26) through Haltom City and North Richland Hills.  The bad news is that these lanes would be tolled as TxDOT does not have funds to widen that part of 820.  If approved, the new lanes would be ready for use by 2011.   What do you think?  Once built, will enough people use the toll lanes to make traffic better there?

TDOT has said they don't have money for proects AND that they aren't going to build access roads along new highways, yet they are discussing plans to put access roads along I-20 in Duncanville?

TOLL ROADS .....ILL just take a seat at the "Shut The Hell Up Table" on this one ! Last year I spent $2080.00 in toll fees just driving to work. Now add $200.00 + in vehicle (car & truck) registration & state inspection & who knows how much gas taxes to the state.

I know G. I know! To Addam_Bombb: Maybe (with the amount of cash you put up on a yearly basis) there could be an ADDAM_BOMBB Tollway extension named just for you?

Toll???? What is happening to all the $$ I pay to register my vehicles every year? What about all the taxes paid to the state? I would do what I could to avoid the toll road. What happened to FREEways? Once a toll is put on, it never seems to stop. So, once this expansion is paid for with tolls, what will the $$ be used for? Perhaps we should do a better job of finding and fining those driving without licenses, insurance, etc.

I live in Keller and I travel through Grapevine Highway (26) and go through Haltom City to North Richland Hills. I don't understand why they need to make 820 a toll road. I know it is a nightmare driving through there but it doesn't need to be a toll road.

Unfortunately vinceyoung10, that's the only way the North Loop will get the much needed extra lanes. Oh...and gunrights....I'm with you!

Why don't you fly through Keller or Tarrant County? Have you ever been through Keller?

Not as often as I need to, but I did fly over yesterday going to a fire in Argyle and also to check out some roadwork by the TMS.
