ChopperChip's Blog

OK.....maybe a better title to the blog would be "Make the Hurting Stop!" and of course I would be referring to the roadwork on LBJ in Mesquite.  The demolition crews are more than halfway finished in their quest to dismantle the old LBJ overpass at Town East Boulevard and by 7 tomorrow morning all traffic should be allowed under LBJ again.  But that will come to a halt again next Monday into Tuesday for more work.

In the grand scheme of things, the current roadwork marks the halfway point of the project and unfortunately it will be  another nine months or so before work is complete between I-30 and Highway 80.  Remember...no pain no gain!!  Personally, I could do without the pain!!!

No word yet on when 183 will be widened Addam_Bombb, but I do have info regarding the North Loop. I'll post a blog shortly to that effect.

Chip, in a way you're really lucky about this LBJ thingy. You're above the congestion. What about us poor folks that have to traverse this area twice a day? OMG - what a nightmare at times.

Welcome to the chopper zone! If you're new to the area let me introduce myself. My job for FOX 4: Be the eyes that guide you to the traffic troubles around the Metroplex! I'm a Texan through and through--born in Austin, raised in North Texas with a degree from TCU. My wife and I have been married for 12 years and we have 2 kids. I love playing golf and watching all sports. I also like to sing and play guitar. My secret goal? Someday I'd love to build my own golf course....but having the ability to retire on one would be great too! If there's anything I can do to help you plan routes through this busy part of Texas please let me know and as always: have a "Good Day!"
