There were quite a few intersections across the metroplex that had no power due to downed power lines and blown transformers yesterday and today is no different.  Here's an example:  Over at PRESTON RD and ALPHA the power is out and traffic is really jamming up on the east side of the Valley View Mall.  If you encounter other issues, please feel free to attach 'em to this blog.  According to Dan, the wind advisory is in effect until 9 tonight.

The wind was blowing very hard well after 9 PM down here. I finally had to get up, get a ladder, go out back and take my wind chime down before one of my neighbors shot me for making so much noise. (Besides it was disturbing my sleep)

It's not a little tinkle wind chime it's big and it's noisy when the wind blows hard.

This has been the most wind in June that I can remember. March is one thing, but to get pounded like this combined with the heat is even worse up in the chopper!

I have found as well that every time it so much as SPRINKLES, the traffic lights at Preston and Arapaho will malfunction as well! If you get up and realize it rained over night, just don't even bother going there. Take another route!

There seems to be quite a few of those finiky lights! Up in Plano around Custer and Park is another that comes to mind.

Welcome to the chopper zone! If you're new to the area let me introduce myself. My job for FOX 4: Be the eyes that guide you to the traffic troubles around the Metroplex! I'm a Texan through and through--born in Austin, raised in North Texas with a degree from TCU. My wife and I have been married for 12 years and we have 2 kids. I love playing golf and watching all sports. I also like to sing and play guitar. My secret goal? Someday I'd love to build my own golf course....but having the ability to retire on one would be great too! If there's anything I can do to help you plan routes through this busy part of Texas please let me know and as always: have a "Good Day!"
