Ahhh late spring and early summer!  The birds are chirping, flowers blooming and the smell of burnt grass is wafting through the air!  Fire departments across the metroplex are having to use more and more resources to knock out these pesky fires and most of them are started by a careless toss of a cigarette out the window.  Please think twice before you start one and alert the authorities if you see someone being a lug nut!  The fire department thanks you for your support!!

I see lug nuts everyday!

I was behind a girl yesterday that tossed her trash out the window!

People that smoke should have an ashtray in their vehicles. No excuse for tossing them out the window. AND people shouldn't be tossing their garbage out their windows going down the highway either. They make trash bags for that.

Now if I had a bull horn she would have heard me yelling at her to go pick it up!

That's what makes the cigarette butt thing even worse Sharkieb. With winds like this, a small fire on the side of the road could quickly spread and easily jump over several lanes of traffic into who knows what!

I work in the fire prevention industry - I hear who and what it affected after the fact sometimes because one person was careless alot of other people needlessly suffer . Its shameful.

Welcome to the chopper zone! If you're new to the area let me introduce myself. My job for FOX 4: Be the eyes that guide you to the traffic troubles around the Metroplex! I'm a Texan through and through--born in Austin, raised in North Texas with a degree from TCU. My wife and I have been married for 12 years and we have 2 kids. I love playing golf and watching all sports. I also like to sing and play guitar. My secret goal? Someday I'd love to build my own golf course....but having the ability to retire on one would be great too! If there's anything I can do to help you plan routes through this busy part of Texas please let me know and as always: have a "Good Day!"
