The Other Chip

I normally don't blog at 3:27am, but I thought I'd dash off this quick note during the middle of this very loud overnight thunderstorm.  The lightning and thunder are very close.  My 6-year-old daughter is beside me.  She's scared to death of storms, particularly the noisy ones.  If she ain't sleeping, I ain't sleeping.

Hit here around 2:30 and we had quite a light show. In all the storms before it this year, I dont recall as much lightening as we experienced last night. Pretty dramatic.

2.97" from Flower Mound! All of it fell within about 90 minutes.

It woke me and hubby up, then woke up both girls and both dogs - they were all scared, it sure was loud! We turned on the television waiting for the infomercials and weird sci-fi shows to be interrupted by the weather team for a play by play of the storm but I guess at 3 AM we're on our own and SOL!! So we just used our spidey senses :p

Plenty of rain in Keller....as you know....and more cloud to ground lightening strikes than I've seen in my three years in Texas. At one point the Southwestern sky was an eerie greenish-blue color. Something else I've never seen until now.

Where were our Email storm warnings, Chip?

I woke up at 3 this morning to very loud thunder. One of my Shelties is afraid of thunder, so I had company on the bed. That is the only time he will get on the bed or in the chair with me, is bad weather,so I take advantage of it.

Kids are like that. So are dogs. My little terrior chiquaqua (How do you spell that anyways...LOL) I terrified of the storms. Rain, lighening or thunder......But the storms are what brings the rain and the rain is what makes the plants happy and lakes full so I say, storm on but hold back on high winds and tornados............smile

Hehe, first thing I thought of was your computer. Until I go wireless no one could pay me to have mine plugged in during a storm. I've lost 2 monitors and a sound card because I refused to unplug. Even with the surge protectors.

Howdy! First off, I'm not the FOX 4 traffic guy. That's Waggoner. I'm the "other Chip" and I’m the managing editor of this world’s-finest newsroom. One of my responsibilities is to manage this website, so I’d love to hear your comments. Outside of work, I’m on the board of directors of Radio Television News Directors Association, the leading organization of TV/radio/online journalists in the world. One of the Top 5 highlights of my life will come when the Texas Rangers win a World Series. My wife is also in TV News, and we've got two great kids. This photo is me in front of a mountain glacier at the Columbia Icefields in Alberta, Canada. How to tell Chip Waggoner and me apart? We're both good-looking, but he's a Frog and I'm a Mustang, and that's all you need to know about that!
