ATKINSON, N.H. (AP) -- Brad Delp, the lead singer for the band Boston, was found dead Friday in his home in southern New Hampshire. He was 55.  Atkinson police responded to a call for help at 1:20 p.m. and found Delp dead. Lt. William Baldwin said in a news release that there was no indication of foul play. "There was nothing disrupted in the house. He was a fairly healthy person from what we're able to ascertain," Police Chief Philip Consentino told WMUR-TV. Delp apparently was alone at the time, Baldwin said. The cause of death remained under investigation. Police said an incident report would not be available until Monday.

Wow, this is a stunner.  I was a teenager when Boston made a big splash with its first two albums in the late-1970s.  I also loved "Third Stage" in the mid-1980s, and that's when I saw them in concert.  What was cool about that concert was that they played their old hits at the beginning and the end of the show, but in the middle they played "Third Stage" all the way through.

Their last concert was three months ago, fittingly, in Boston.

I'm going to reload my iPod today with all my Boston music.

"I see my Mary Anne walking away ..."

This is truly sad.

My brother was a HUGE fan of Boston when we were in junior high school. I still remember getting ready for school in the mornings and he would have his Boston album playing full blast on the hi-fi. "Don't Look Back" was one of my favorite Boston songs.

Howdy! First off, I'm not the FOX 4 traffic guy. That's Waggoner. I'm the "other Chip" and I’m the managing editor of this world’s-finest newsroom. One of my responsibilities is to manage this website, so I’d love to hear your comments. Outside of work, I’m on the board of directors of Radio Television News Directors Association, the leading organization of TV/radio/online journalists in the world. One of the Top 5 highlights of my life will come when the Texas Rangers win a World Series. My wife is also in TV News, and we've got two great kids. This photo is me in front of a mountain glacier at the Columbia Icefields in Alberta, Canada. How to tell Chip Waggoner and me apart? We're both good-looking, but he's a Frog and I'm a Mustang, and that's all you need to know about that!
