The Other Chip

So you see our new Music section on the myFOXdfw.com blogs -- another topic for you to write about.  We're hopefully soon going to be integrating these Music blogs with a cool new project in the works with our sister company, MySpace.  More later on that.

So for now, it's just you and us and lots to talk about.  Here's a question to start a conversation.

What's the most embarrasing song on your iPod (or mp3) playlist?  And if you don't have an iPod, then what is the most embarrasing single, album or CD you have in your collection?

For me, and this is bad, I'm pretty sure there's at least one Air Supply song on my iTunes at home.  Don't think it's currently on the iPod, but it counts if it's in the house.  There are a few other mushy songs on my list.

OK, I've shared.  Now you have to share too!

My most embarrassing song on my mp3 is "Took the Last Train" by David Gates.

I loved this song way back when and hadn't heard it in ages, and I played the heck out of it the first two weeks I had my mp3. Now I'm tired of it and don't know how to erase it!!

The most embarrassing CD I have is "Dr Hook's Greatest Hits." The money was just burning a hole in my pocket the day I bought that, I guess.

The song from "The Little Mermaid". Was in my music file and got on my IPod. What's even more embarrassing is the fact that I know all the words.

Since my wife's CDs are mixed in with mine on the rack, I would have to say there are a lot of them, like Abba, New Kids On The Block (mine), Voice of the Beehive...seriously, everyone that hears that last one says it sounds like lesbian music...the Mrs. just thought I was harassing her when I mentioned it.

I tried to sell NKOTB but no one would buy it!

thanks for adding this....beens i am getting "older"... at the moment without thinking too hard i would have to say the fast "tap" playing of the electric guitar like('eddie van halen") not saying this is bad, but, just not for me anymore....:)

Squirrelfriend- I'm glad to know I am not the only one that likes the quirky stuff. I collect comedy, my wife collects the music.

See, I don't have a problem with ELO. They were a real band. Their music seems a little dated now, to be sure, but there are still some good tunes to listen too.

"The Streak" was totally fun back in 1974. I was 10 -- not quite ready for streaking myself, however.

Dallas47, I haven't heard of what you're seeing. If this persists, please write our webteam at website@kdfwfox4.com . If you can make a screen-grab of what's showing up on your screen, that would be most helpful.

Howdy! First off, I'm not the FOX 4 traffic guy. That's Waggoner. I'm the "other Chip" and I’m the managing editor of this world’s-finest newsroom. One of my responsibilities is to manage this website, so I’d love to hear your comments. Outside of work, I’m on the board of directors of Radio Television News Directors Association, the leading organization of TV/radio/online journalists in the world. One of the Top 5 highlights of my life will come when the Texas Rangers win a World Series. My wife is also in TV News, and we've got two great kids. This photo is me in front of a mountain glacier at the Columbia Icefields in Alberta, Canada. How to tell Chip Waggoner and me apart? We're both good-looking, but he's a Frog and I'm a Mustang, and that's all you need to know about that!
