Don't know if this is all true, but I found it interesting:
 
From the L. A. Times

1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County ( L. A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.



2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.



3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.



4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal , whose births were paid for by taxpayers.



5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.



6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.



7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.



8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.



9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L. A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.  (There are 10.2 million people in L. A. County. )

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare.

Over 70% of the United States' annual population growth (and over 90% of California, Florida , and New York) results from immigration.

29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

We are a bunch of fools for letting this continue.

Carmel , Here we go again . You start out by stating that you don't even know if this is true , and yet you continue . It seems to me that you are trying to get everybody riled up , pissed off and feel hatred toward illegals . In your bio you say you are friendly and caring . I say you are not . It seems you are promoting hatred and violence against a certain race . You mentioned a cetain percentage that are spanish speaking , why didn't you mention a % on Armenion , Chinese or any other language . Go ahead blog about whatever floats your boat , I just worry that some ignorant fool might act upon reading these comments and actually hurt someone . If you believe in a certain issue go out and vote !

O.K. Carmel I believe it's o.k. to say your sicilian , you are proud of your roots and that's o.k. But you live in the U.S.A . if you love this country so much why haven't you become a U.S. citizen ? Doug , Ask the Mexican government why they have an armed border , maybe they're afraid the central-americans will take away their drug business . Maybe all the drug addicts should stop contibuting to all the drug trafficing . Again ASK THE MEXICAN Government about the fence .

Hi Carmela,

I don't care to much about this issue anymore. I've become disgusted by the obvious hatred towards Hispanic people, particularly those from Mexico, by White Americans. I support our laws and I love our country, but I can't stand all the hostility. I received that same e-mail a while ago. I don't believe them because it seems like they come from people that want to cause anger and intolerance, instead of focusing on enforcing the law. Those statistics are totally false anyways, I don’t know what they are exactly, but common sense tells me those are bs, like this one: “95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.” YEAH RIGHT. As if. But that’s my opinion, I respect yours if you believe different.

i agree that all of those stats are BS.but we have to CONTROL the flow,the reason mexico has a armed border is because it makes sense,your probably right latinawoman they are worried about drug smugglers and possibly worse just like we should be.
i have no problem with anyone who tries to better thier lives,but we have to know who is coming into the country.
we do need immigrants,just has to be controlled and laws have to be inforced.

Dear Latinawoman to become an American citizen you have to earn it...I haven’t been here long enough, by the way did I tell you I’m an Australian citizen I earned that one years ago.
Good things happen to those who wait...and I need to wait. My ex husband was from Argentina I believe they speak Spanish I’m not against any race I’m just against people breaking the law and yes I do love America and most of all i respect it!

Latinawoman believes that we should just ignore the fact that the illegals are draining our country dry. Don't let her get to you - she acts like it's okay for illegals to come here, have babies and live off of our welfare system. Carmel - good for you and welcome to our country. You are the type of immigrant that is welcomed with open arms. You speak English and care enough about this country to enter it legally.

And you are correct Carmel - it's all about breaking the law. They leave their country, come here illegally and then have the nerve to send the majority of their wages back to their "home" - if they like their country so much they should work on fixing the problems there and not come here and cause more problems for legal immigrants and the natural born citizens (not anchor babies) of this country. My ancestors (all of them) came here in the 16th and 17th century and I know that they would be rolling in their graves if they knew that what they had fought and died for was being given in the form of handouts to illegals.

NoAngel, If these people were free to protest in their country without getting shot between the eyes I'm sure they would do it . WE here in the U.S. are free to protest , strike , speak freely . People in other countries do not have that right . I can't blame some of you for not understanding this , it's just plain ignoranct bliss , because you've never experienced any other way of living . I haven't either , but I have been to other countries and I've seen it first hand .

I don't think any of you understand what Latinawoman or I are trying to convey. I remember a post that Gina Silva wrote a while back on "Hatred". I didn't agree with her at the time, because in all honesty, I hadn't been exposed to this issue outside of my little group of friends who are kind, good people, so I didn't think there was any racism or hatred. But after reading so much bs on this website among others, I understand what Gina was talking about. Let me try to express what I think one more time and let's hope it can be understandable. Latinawoman, please correct me if I'm wrong.

We (most people with common sense) are NOT in support of any person from any country breaking any law in any country, ESPECIALLY OURS. We would love it if everyone entered our country legally, we would love it if our borders were protected and secured for our safety. I would personally love it if it wasn't so difficult for some people to enter legally so they wouldn’t have to enter illegally to begin with. Then again, I'd love it if there was no diseases or war and we all lived like Adam and Eve in the freaking Garden of Eden. BUT, we don't, and bs happens every single day. We live in an imperfect world, ran by imperfect leaders, and that is our reality. So instead of spreading all these vicious lies that promote hatred towards a group of people, why don't we all work together for the common good in a way that we can all benefit as opposed to all this hostility and bs from which no one does. ...."we will accomplish NOTHING", just don't complain when things get worse and nothings been done to resolve the situation. Compromise is needed to rectify a situation that we've all contributed to, without compromise and true facts, nothing will be resolved.

That’s true craftyguy, so why not fix the problem? Secure the border, that sounds good, it should've always been secure. Fix whatever it is that's making it so difficult for some to enter legally, so they don't have enter illegally to begin with. And letting those who are already here stay, wouldn't be so bad. If you insist on deporting illegal immigrants that have committed crimes, I have no problem with that. I know that some of you insist on complete deportation, but that's not likely to happen, so get over it. And we really need to stop treating everyone with so much anger and start moving forward with a solution. Like I said, compromise. The problem has already been created, so let's just fix it and move on. And would it be possible to do it WITHOUT hate and anger?

I respect people-when I get angry I ask God to take away the anger cause it is a waste of energy I’m naïve sometimes I’m not the smartest but I’m smarter than some… people say I have a beautiful smile and a pretty face but I know there is always someone prettier… in my old age I have become vain But I still look younger than fifty-one I am an open book I smile all the time and I love people I wish I had a magic wand so I can take the pain away from all whom suffer … At this very moment I have this urge to go to LA and feed the homeless cause I never take anything for granted I give donations when I can and I thank God everyday for what I have and not what I don’t have… people who know me will say I’m crazy (but I’m crazy good) I work with elderly I take care of someone’s mother or grandmother I respect all races but have no respect for ignorance...
