yeah i have to agree, it's not just in spanish. coming to work, i have to deal with spanish speakers, mid way to work it's all lil saigon. so everyone speaks in vietnamise, then when i hit westminster, it's all english. i know there are areas where it's korean, japanise, and chinese. i'm not angry about that. no need to be. freedom of speach. they have the right to speak any language they want, when they want. america is a melting pot of different cultures, languages and traditions. instead of trying to uniform it all into one thing, i say take advantage of it, and learn from every culture.

This is proof that spanish speaking Illegal Aliens refuse to assimilate into our society. The Illegal Aliens and their supporters are lying when they say they just want to come here to have a part of the American Dream! They support Roger Mahony for cryin' out loud!

latinawoman & samo, I get what you say about loving different cultures. I agree.
But because there are so many different people with different cultures and languages, we need to find our common ground and all speak one language. Otherwise how will we all understand, coexist, and communicate with each other? seen the movie Babel? it's also in the bible, the tower of Babel. Both good examples of what people go through when we can not communicate with each other. It’s extremely confusing and aggravating. Certainly not my idea of “quality living”.

that’s a lovely idea, but not practical, how many languages would all us have to learn? and why can't we all speak English? that is the language of this country. if you went to Japan would you demand that they learn your language so they can communicate with you? sounds rude. they would tell you to learn Japanese if you want to communicate. There’s more of them than of you.

i think if you live in the u.s. you should know english, but don't forget your roots either. so be bilingual, trilingual or whatever. it's all good.

you will NOT believe it, I called 911 about a month ago and before I even talked to the operator I had to go through a machine "for english press one, for spanish stay on the line" i was like....OMFG, are you serious?" when i got through a drive through i find myself having to write out what i want! "can i get a chocolate sundae" "uh? uh? no...entiendo" and im like..."how the hell did you get this job?!"
i completely agree...last time i told my parents "the only people who win the loterry are retired, white doctors who are about to die" haha but i was just joking, ill admit, sometimes I joke about race a lot. but those who know me, know not to get offended ..

(Speaking of 911) when I was working at A gas station this young man walks in he goes to the fridge and takes a beer.
He looks at me and just walks out.
I wasn’t going to get shot over a beer- however when he started playing with the pumps that when I freaked out, so I called 911.
They wanted to know if he was Black Caucasian or Latino…how in the hell should I know, I know he wasn’t black that I was sure of… he could be “OTHER” I was new to the US I had to look twice and to top it up after the cops come they ask me WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO WITH HIM ? WAS that a trick question?
Put him in front of a firing squad! “I should’ve answered” I shake my head.
By the way I quit after that.
