Susan Sarandon: I thought you already left the U.S.A.

I couldn't resist getting this one on the blogs (even though I've been home wrestling with a nasty stomach flu). 

Must be gettin' close to election time. The Hollyweird political know-it-alls are out with their "If _______ (usually a Republican candidate is used here) is elected, then I'm moving to Canada or ______." Congratulations to actress Susan Sarandon who appears the first to issue such an edict for 2008!

Sarandon, who along with actor/activist husband Tim Robbins, hates Republicans. Guess there's nothing wrong with that - she is entitled to her opinion. Even Hollywood has a small clan who hate Democrats. I think most of America already knows how much Sarandon and her fellow Hollyweird Democrats hate President Bush. But Sarandon also hates John McCain. Hence the following:

"If John McCain is elected, I will move to Italy or Canada. It's a critical time but I have faith in the American people."

What? Susan, I thought you already moved out of the good ol' U.S.A. Didn't you issue the same threat in 2000 and then again in 2004? I could swear you were already living in Canada, Italy, Belgium, Sweden or Utopia. Guess I must've confused you with the hundreds of other actors/actresses who placed the same edict. Sorry for being confused but I could've sworn you threatened the American people before.

All kidding aside...There is one thing seriously that probably gets your blood boiling. It's Sarandon's second line: faith in the American people (to do the right thing). Who is she? Is she speaking down to me? Is she some expert on politics that you or I could never be? Where does Sarandon get off on talking to her fellow Americans like she's some political prophet? Then again if you break down the quote and her threat to leave the starts and stripes, maybe she's condescending to us because she's already left the country.

Well said.

Let's just hope she takes the rest of them with her, by them I mean the one's who visited Chavez. The woman is a Marxist, and scared to death of what our Forefathers believed in.

The new Obama backers, did you see this. Most of them speak with heavy accents. Wonder if they are even citizens of the United States. I don't see what these people are seeing in him. He scares me. I saw him on Book TV yesterday, he spoke in circles, and it was very confusing to listen to him. Have you read his book?

They were showing a list of people who are famous, who are citizens of Canada. I was amazed about, how many there are. Susan is probably going to leave. LOL

In their OWN sense of self importance they forget that THEIR popularity is DUE to the PUBLIC…
THEY are NOTHING without that…Kind of a HARD pill to swallow when the Press,, the ONLY link that THEY ALLOW with the Public,, TREATS ythem like Royalty and worse yet,, TREATS them like THEY DESERVE to be treated as Royalty..That THEY have a RIGHT to EXPECT to be treated like Royalty..

SAME thing with Barbara Streisand…. WE made THEM,, THEY didn’t make US..

But then,, As in the case of Robbins and Sarandon,, WHAT ELSE can you expect from people who spend their ENTIRE Adult Lives PRETENDING to BE someone and/or someTHING that they are NOT…

Hell,,When you remember that there were ACTUALLY a few of these people CALLED to give EXPERT testimony before CONGRESS ( Fonda on Nuclear Power,, Spacek on Coal Mining,,etc..) Based SOLELY on a MOVIE that they made,,their ILLUSIONS are at least,, NOT confined to ONLY THEIR mental inability to distinguish FACT from FICTION alone,, but from OUTSIDE influences as well..

Well Susan... maybe we can offer you the same thing we offered Alex Baldwin who swore to leave the country if Bush got into office! I'm sure we can come up with enough cash to purchase you a First Class ticket ONE WAY to anywhere you wish! All you have to do is hand over your Passport, and social security card, and request political asylum somewhere else!

Well...well
I was wondering when she would turn up. She and all of those other Hollyweird peolpe. The only people that listen to them are the weak minded people. Her and all those others need to learn to keep their mouths shut and stick to what they are good at. Making crappy movies! If she did leave the country and she is now home sick and wants to come back. Her airplane ticket needs to be revoked along with all those other Hollyweird people that left because of our President.

Susan Sarandon always goes over the top, as does her husband. If this got you upset you really need to read some of the comments that have been made.

As for her comments, it's all her own choice. I think it was just an angry comment. People say stuff like that all day. Republicans (Some who post on this very blog) say things just as inflammatory about democrats on a daily basis.

Either way what she said was idiotic and un-patriotic in the extreme. Again this woman is a bit touched in the head. Don't use her to guage the Hollywood scene or Political bent of the Hollywood Dem's by some anxious pent up Communist.

Let's not forget who Sarandon is. She is just an actress. Let's not forget some of the roles she has played.

She played a sleezey horny cheap lay in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, who makes love to a Transvesite.

I know, I shouldn't know that, but in my youth, about 30 of us went to see the movie every Friday night, just about.

Maybe SARANdon should take some SARAN wrap and wrap it around her head and breath deeply.
