City View has methane gas? DUH!!! Our government is right on the ball as always. Anybody who worked on that project could have told you there were problems. You could smell it everytime you went across the I-480 bridge. Anyone with a lick of common sense knew they developed that property far too fast. Want proof of methane? Open a utility manhole and test the air. Those of us who installed the underground untilities know what's there. It takes at least an hour to ventilate those holes before you even begin to think about entering. The problems there are just beginning. Wait until the structural defects begin to manifest themselves due to excessive settling. It's all about the cash

Hello Cleveland!!! Been away from the blog for awhile, but I'm back. Anybody experience the TSO New Years Eve Extravaganza? We did, as we have since they started touring. This is a show that traditions are built on. We started by taking our children, and now they are taking their inlaws and their children. TSO is not just an event, it's a happening. We saw them when they barely had a budget to put on a show, and now they're international. Cleveland has an honor few cities can boast. When TSO comes to town, we get the best!!!! This town is not only the home of rock and roll, we're also the center of all the arts! We have a WORLD class art museum, as well as a WORLD class orchestra,  We have the Botanical Gardens, the Natural History Museum, and the Lakefront.. Where else are you going to find a park system that parallels ours?  We have much to shout about, if we take the time to tout it! The arts and sciences live here. Embrace them, I believe that this is our future. I believe in this city, good and bad. I also believe we are blessed with the diversity of a WORLD CLASS city! We only need to shout, out loud, WELCOME TO CLEVELAND!!!!

How about the abandoned house that mysteriously exploded in Akron.  Any takers on the bet that someone was cooking up a tasty batch of methamphetamine?

Zack Reed has a problem. He knows it , but refused to acknowledge it in the past. He arrogantly denied any problem with any substance abuse, yet here he is again, right back where he left off. An alchoholic cannot "just quit" anytime he wishes. It is impossible. I know.  The only way to stop drinking is to admit you are powerless, and seek help. This is not a job to be done alone. Help is just a phone call away, and the number aint hard to find. It's at the very front of the phone book.  Zack must take time for himself. He's got to put his ego aside and take care of himself if he's to any chance of a future. People tend to be forgiving if they feel you are sincerely tring to change your life. I know. My words are not idle chit chat. Zack, you need to step aside and take care of business. You only get one go around in this life. Make the most of it!

If I passed out anything other than candy on Halloween, I might as well get the pressure washer out now, cause I will be one everyone ETL (egg target list).  It will be ugly!!!!

I only caught this briefly. Is there a lawsuit being brought for the guitar solo during Princes' Super Bowl halftime show? This is rediculous. There are people who are so unhappy with their miserable little lives, that they will find anything offensive in everything. Yes, if you choose to see something offensive in that solo, you will find it. I personally didn't see anything INTENTIONALLY obscene. I thought it was a good show. But if you want to see something obscene, just look at the moon. It gave me the rasberries and flipped me the bird.  Really. I saw it. I'm gonna sue.

Kudos to the faculty and the students of this school. The are taking a negative and creating a positive. Instead of hiding the racial attack on their school, they addressed it in an open forum, allowing the students to publicly state their views, and show their unity. The guilty will be caught. Morons such as these can't keep their mouths shut. Their egos need to fed, so they will brag.

A music teacher performs in a play, after school hours, away from school property, in an environment where children under 17 can't enter without their parents, and the school district in which he works wants him to resign just because he exposes is bare butt on stage? What kind of puritanical mental midgets are these people? I could see where there could be a problem if he was a Chippendale dancer, or a porn actor, but c'mon people, It's the Full Monty. It's a fun play. And they don't even show the "Full Monty". This is what happens when you give a group of idiots a little power. Happens everyday. Most of us see it when we go to work!  By the way, Good Morning.

I,ve heard some clandestine referrals to this group in various others blogs, but had no idea to whom they were referring.  My wife and I took this week off to celebrate our 25th anniversary, and have been tuning into Fox8  every morning. We very pleasantly suprised to hear Todd perform this morning. He and the group are quite good. Very tight.  We both enjoyed the morning rock boost. Good start to the day. We will check out their website for dates near us. Sounds like a good night. Music with some bite to it. Get it... bite...molar,,,oh well , better take a shower.

I have been a motorsports fan since chilhood, and by far,  stock car racing is my favorite genre. I have my favorite driver (#20), and my favorite nemesis' (#24 & #48). But I fear I must redirect my energies. I have only so much animosity to go around. So I now hereby reliquensh my distaste of Jeff Gordon, and Jimmy Johnson. A new evil has raised it's serpentine head, and all those associated with it must rise up in unison and slay it!  I am of course referring to, the Busch brothers(#2 & #5). They seem to have the mentality of, if I can't beat 'em, smash 'em!  If I can't pass the leader, spin 'em out. If I can't win the race, I'm gonna take out the whole field. These two non-driving ferret faces seem to have only one talent, wrecking other drivers! Excuse me , they also excel at another God given gift, whining. Now don't get me wrong, I am not opposed to being agressive, that's what makes a champion, but taking somebody out because you don't have the talent to beat them competitevly is inexcusible. This behavior seems to be the Busch Boys mantra. If ya can't beat 'em, wreck 'em.  It will only be a matter of time before the other drivers who share the track with these talentless butt-sores, unite and deal with them as only they can, on the track! But in the mean time I shall continue my quest to defeat the Busch-Beast by booing their every appearance, and calling them obscene things at every available opportunity. This evil must be stopped!!! This is my quest. Thank you for your support.

Everyday our news orgaizatios are innundated by stories of some senior driver plowing their car into building, or down a crowded sidewalk maiming or killing many. Now I understand these examples are a minute portion of a much larger problem. The rules of the road have changed dramatically. The quaint notion of defensive driving has gone right out the window. Drivers no longer give you the chance to merge when needed. You have to look over your shoulder, find a spot and go for it! Drive it like ya stole it! And when the other driver refuses to let you in(which he won't), you gotta force your way in. Common courtesy does not exist.Driving the speed limit anymore is just a loosely based suggestion. You drive the speed limit, you have now become a traffic hazzard. Too many seniors drive the freeways adhereing to the set limits, and are being run off the road. They also lack the ability to make a quick decision when an unexpected problem arises (like backing up on the freeway to get onto a exit they've missed). There is an area at Hopkins air port, despite being VERY clearly marked, seniors will enter the wrong way onto a freeway. This happens on a regular basis. Our medical community has come up new drugs and procedures to allow us to live longer. The problem is that they we be living longer, the skills needed to perform even the most basic of funtions is deteriorating. The ability to make the snap judgements necessry when dealing same direction traffic is dangerously lacking, and lets not get started on oncoming traffic.I drive a truck for a living, making me responible for a lot of weight on our roadways, and I absolutly dread having to be on the road between the hours of 9:00am and 2:00pm. These are the death hours. These are the hours where the streets are loaded with seniors. I stay away. I stay awaw from Marc's, drug stores, discount restaurants ect. It is my beliefe that a vast amount of seniors should not be on the road today. I believe at age 65 you must take a remedial drivers test and have a medical card issued just as truckers do, and this test shoud be retaken every ten years, or as an officer of the law sees fit. Unfortunatly our roads are being taken over by a new breed of punk who cares less about rules and regulations, and having the added traffic of people whom are unable to cope with these everchanging conditions just compounds the danger we put ourselves in everyday when we go to work.

Is 67 years old too old to have a baby? Of course it is. Especially with twins. Never mind the fact she'll be in her eighties at graduation. What about the demands posed just in rearing them? The energy needed is more than any amount of Ensure could supply. And let's not forget the emotional scarring those children will experience from all those months of breast feeding. Yuk!

I'm curious. I work in the cable construction industry, and an incident happened yesterday that nobody has reported. A naked man wielding a double barreled shotgun tried a shoot a telephone splicer in a devolpment off Drake Road in Strongsville. The gun failed to discharge, for whatever reason, so the naked guy got into the splicers truck and tried to run him down, eventually smashing into the side of a construction vehicle at the site that the splicer was hiding behind. Eventually the man was arrested. I know this happened, because I work with the people in the shop this splicer is assigned to. Has anyone else heard this story? I just find it odd that nobody is reporting this. This story is so bizarre that you would think at least channel 19 would report it, but nothing.

Bigguy

47 yrs. old. Married 25 years, and father of two, both kids grown and on their own {except for Baxter, our Corgi}.I work construction, and love to repair all our own stuff(home, cars etc.). I truly love our city. It,s got big city culture without big big city petentiousness. Sure we have our problems, but ya take the good with the bad. We have three pro sports teams, all of which are supported by our fans, good or bad. This city has much to offer if we all just look past the negative and see the light.
