With so much overwhelming bad news on tv, people killing one another, breaking and entering, road rage, etc., I find that I have to turn away from the news for a while. There are times, it seems, there is absolutely not one word of good news about hardly anything. Then there are other times that occasionally a bit of good news will mangae to come through. I usually enjoy watching the news because, like everyone else, I also want to stay informed. Maybe it's that I'm just too soft hearted. Every day there seems to be at least a couple of stories or more that, when I hear about them, I can't help but shed a few tears from all the sadness and bad things that happen. I don't know how the newscasters manage to get through some of the news stories they share without loosing it. I know that I couldn't do it. I'm sure their job can be tough at times. I have to say, I commend them all.
REPORTERS AND TRAGIC NEWS STORIES

I've often wondered what it must be like for the news anchors, or reporters doing a story on tragic events, especially news about shootings, stabbings, and car crashes with life threatening injuries or no survivors. There are also weather related tragedies: people loosing there lives in tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, etc. I've always noticed the expressions on the reporters face while they're giving the coverage and thought how hard this must be to report such as these/ those. I've seen many reporters express their feelings just by the look on their face while telling the story. I know it must be hard and they have my sympathy. Sometimes while I'm just listening to the event, it brings a few tears to my eyes. I cry for all those people who loose loved ones and close friends. I also pray for all of them. I know along with bad news, there's also good news (stories). Thank goodness for that. I just don't know how reporters do their job so well, without actually falling apart on some stories. I'm sure it has something to do with composure and lots of experience. I know I could not do nearly as good a job as they do. Let me just say to all of you in the news buisness, thank you and that I really admire the jobs you do. Especially when it comes to the tragic stories. I know those have to be the hardest.
Now that Gerald Ford has passed, may he rest in peace, who of the remaining former Presidents might take the lead as the oldest living President? I'm thinking maybe Jimmy Carter. Also, who might be the oldest living former first lady? On that I'm thinking Betty Ford, the late Gerald Ford's wife.
Help me out here folks- I need a presidential history lesson today.
