California's finest! I'm specifically talking about the California Highway Patrol and even more specifically the traffic officers whom you see on our air and on our website!!!

A few weekends ago, Officers Humberto Jimenez,
Josh Kolstad, Rick Quintero and  Miguel Luevano were on hand at the 34th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

These guys are like rockstars.
The fab four were signing autographs and taking photos with the general public ( & me).

People were waiting in line to meet the real life versions of Frank Poncherello and John Baker (motorcycle cops from the 70's show "CHiPs"). Yes, I kind of remember them, mainly because my mother thought they were hot. She never said so...she didn't have to. She would no doubt think the same of our real life "CHiPs".

If you ever wondered whether he's wearing his boots every morning while reporting the traffic on "Good Day LA" as I have- wonder no more. The answer is "Yes!"

But never judge a chippie by the size of his boots. Case in point, Officer Humberto Jimenez and his BOOTS!!!!


Officer Jimenez also reports for FOX 11. He appears Monday through Friday from 4:45PM -6:15PM on our REAL TIME TRAFFIC SHOW at www.foxla.com. He too wears the FULL CHP UNIFORM. However, he wears the short boots.

He is not a motorcycle cop like Officer Quintero, but the kind that patrols in a cruiser. So the short boot "look" is more appropriate. These boots were made for walkin'...(or runnin' if a foot pursuit ensues!)

These guys manage to bring us real time traffic information many times an hour. They rescue people and animals on our freeways...rid the streets of unsafe and/or drunk drivers...and all the while somehow do so with Hollywood smiles, great hair...and extremely well-polished boots!

California's finest...are at the least fine.
Isn't it great to live in California?!

How come the highway patrol are so well liked? All they do is write tickets which upsets people.

The Ca.Highway patrol must come up with a new policy when it come to closing an entire fwy. just because of a fatality. You guys need to get together with the coroner so you can move the body off to the side of the fwy. before they arrive, which usually takes six or more hours.

As far as getting exact measurements? the point of impact went out years ago, which is why it's called area of impact. You can do the same approximations with a deceased. Change your draconian policies, unclog the freeways, and let the spinning wheel ride.

Ok so I couldn't be quiet...BEEP BEEP FYI a crime (aka your mentioned fatality on the roadways) has evidence strewn al lover the freeway when it occurs...if it were your loved one it happened to, I'm sure you would want to find ALL the facts and pieces to the puzzle.
Ans Craftyguy...those people that carry a gun protect YOU and I..you may need one some day! SHAME on you guys for saying anything derogatory about the hard working officers who are underpaid and protect you ALL!!!!! You have NO idea what all happens ot them in a day or an hour for That!

I love boots and men in boots as well. Not all cops are bad Tamera just take a deep breath and with time you will understand these bloggers better. I have had my share of harassement also especially when we were on motorcycles. So just relax but stick up for what you believe.

the highway patrols, always been fair but the LAPD are way out of control. corrupt and racist. repeatedly covering it's acts, from the public. just imagine if all their dirt was
made public. things have'nt changed much since Gate's Gastopo ran the streets.

no problem with CHP either both LAPD and LASD make fun of them..maybe because they have the guts to do their job without fearing for their lives every time some one approaches them with a question.

3 words HOT,SEXY & BRAVE...I look fwd. to watching the traffic reports everyday!!! Not only do you protect us, but you look good doing it and that is by no means an exaggeration on my part. Thanks for all you do may god bless you and keep you safe everyday!!!

Hey Amy.... You're gonna laugh! This is Tim in Ohio... when I have a few minutes I always browse thru the blogs.

So where have you been hiding ?? No recent posts ?? (wink) I imagine your busy enjoyin the summer.

Trust me, I do have life.. ha ha, I just like to catch whats going on out there when I have a few minutes to catch traffic or news.

Always neat to see what the CHP is up to as well.. My dads retired from the Columbus PD, he was in the Aviation unit for most of his career... Growing up, every summer they had Airborne Law Enforcement Assoc. meetings that we would travel to... And he had some friends with the CHP out there... So another reason I catch whats goin on from time to time.

So Amy, are you staying out of trouble ? How many pets are you at right now? the other post was awhile back... :)
