Monday through Friday right here on myfoxla.com
you can get live traffic information from 4:45PM-6:15PM.

This show is unique in that it is only done for the web.
It is a show like any other television show,  with a full crew. The only difference is you won't see it on our airwaves...just our website.

I've had the pleasure of working on it for the past several weeks during its launch.
No scripts, so we don't use a teleprompter,  no video....just breaking traffic news as it's happening.

If you haven't logged on to see it.  Give it a try...it's fast paced and we cover a lot of ground moving all around the southland with live looks through caltrans cameras, Skyfox,
and our own live drive video phone cameras.

I think you will find it useful.  And because it is so new, we are open to suggestions.
You can email your suggestions to us at  traffic@fox11.com.  Let us know what you think or what you need to make it more user friendly.

I find that filming people consistently and daily without their permission when they are traveling normally is a great intrusion on the public. I do not believe people would want you filming them picking their nose on the freeway, while driving and I know you wouldn't want to film a family watching pornographic dvd's in their minivan drop down dvd player in traffic instead of a Disney movie, and certainly a woman doing her eyelashes in heavy traffic or some fat dude eating a Carl's Jr. Juicy messy burger wouldn't want you filming him. I mean C'mon, you folks are really intruding. Wait a second, then again, your shots might bring in bran new story ideas!

I agree Mark. If you watch...you really can only see the road ahead. Our cameras are fuzzy. But as technology improves we may be able to say far more than we really would like. I know when I'm singing in my car...I wouldn't like the guy next to me videotaping it or streaming it on the web.

I mean "see" far more than we really want.
Sorry...doing three things at once.

It's just the way things are today. If I am walking around anywhere these days, I am being filmed. So when I’m outside I am more cautious. I think it’s alright, some news might happen.
Also, Driving is a privilege.
If I am slowing traffic down by eating a donut and drinking coffee all while talking on the phone after I began downshifting and swerving to avoid a rear end collision with a dump truck that I cut off earlier, then I deserve to be filmed.
Anyways, just trying to be funny,
Peace,
Moe

My take is that you can see traffic from the air or the freeway cameras or a traffic person with an animated display on the news and they are not as intrusive. It seems that our privacy is being violated in quantum masses these days, and now throw in the new machines at airports. Do you really want some guy in a room making you stand in a machine watching you in your underwear? This is a very bad idea in practice. Perhaps it looked nice on paper, but they shouldn't do this. It could lead to lawsuits in the future as well, since a person driving a car wouldn't be a news worthy story, thus you would have violated that person's privacy. Just my two cents I guess...

By the way, mpschunks has my poem 405-101 so if you like to laugh it is the second poem here on youtube...enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsSKd_-ch2U
