My BFF-Dolores Carson

My BFF-Her name is Dolores Carson.

She's a petite blonde with a bubbly personality. And despite her sad life on the streets of a tough neighborhood, she insists on bringing a smile to everyone around her.
Her underbite and obvious snaggletooth add character.

I just can't say enough great things about her- maybe because she
lights up a room the moment she enters. And her ability to make new friends
is as simple as a walk in the park.
In case you haven't figured it out by now ...my new best friend,
Dolores Carson, is a dog!

I rescued her from the middle of a busy intersection where she was
nearly hit by several speeding cars. I found her on Dolores Street in Carson, CA. Thus, the name.

No collar, malnourished, in heat, and flea-bitten...the pup had her
tail between her legs and her dry little tongue hanging out of her
mouth, an indication of dehydration.
In addition to her other problems, she
also had a tumor on her head.
But she was sweet and responded to the water and attention we gave
her, by rolling over on her back and wagging her tail. My friend and I
put her in the car and were on our way to take her to the Carson Animal Shelter when I fell in love. Before I knew it I was a proud dog owner!
I had the tumor on Dolores' head removed. Her vet determined it was
nothing to worry about. Although her ears are much closer together following the surgery, I think she looks beautiful.
(In a Joan Rivers...just had my skin pulled taught....kind of way.)
I also had her spayed and treated for fleas.
I think the best thing about rescuing Dolores Carson is her grateful personality.
She is so happy to be my buddy. She just wants to be wherever I am-whether it's running errands or relaxing on the couch. Take note of the photos she does this well.
She makes me laugh. She makes me smile. She reminds me that every
day we should make time for a walk and a good sniff of the
neighborhood...really viewing the world around us as if it were the first time.
I gave her a place to live. But she made the place I live a home.
Rescue a homeless animal. You won't regret it.

cute lil pup. why would anyone spend 1-5 grand on a full breed dog, when you can get a cute doggy like your for free? i have no idea, and if i had the space, for a good pup, i would get one. maybe. some dogs scare me. but yours reminds me of my puppy bruno that i had as a kid.

If only there were more people out there like you. The news for the past week and a 1/2 has bee more sad then usual. So thank you for sharing the tail of your little puppy. I know my life would not be the same without my dog either. Enjoy.

Amy, you're about the only person on FOX who's not a completely annoying a-hole. I vote we fire Jillian and give her job to you. The dog can take replace Dorothy.

Thank you Amy. You have a great heart. This is why we must spay and neuter many animals to prevent this very situation where they are out on the street alone, tired and hungry and lost. I have always loved dogs and cats both and they seem to like me as well, my bubbly personality I guess!!!

Fire Jillian huh, probably isn't going to happen anytime soon. The Execs want the ratings so they will keep Dorothy Loosey and Jillian Barbarism on, though maybe replacing them with Lisa and Amy, Liz or Nischelle wouldn't be a bad move at all. To bad Elizabeth hightailed it out.

I agree. She's priceless!!!
Just saw the Humane Society yesterday protesting outside a new puppy store on Wilshire in Beverly Hills called posh puppies. Their signs said go to yelp. com to see why they were in litigation with them.

Hi Amy God Bless Your heart for going to a rescue! Nice to meet Delores Carson !!
My daughter works for rescue also near there and is working on her vet tech license.
Amy this little guy in my photo is Oscar he was pulled from between wall with his brothers a rescue too as his mom was killed by a car.
So my daughter brought them home.We fostered the 3 boys and Oscar 4yrs now is a very good boy but Felix died of Flv at 2 yrs, but one other boy was adopted out and still see him around outside. I keep Oscar indoors for his safety and other animals safety too, birds lizards etc. Well I just have to say way to go Amy! What a beautiful heart you have! Love ya Brenda

I love that you were there for Delores, you are awesome! I too, have rescued many fuzzy babies in my life. I have a great amount of respect for you for doing this. Thanks for doing your part, you made a choice to be part of the solution to the problem, rather than turn away... I applaud you, and I know that Delores feels very fortunate to have you.

Amy,
I love that you come back and respond to the people on your blog, what a sweetheart you are. I was reading the message board and someone suggested that you guys do an up date story on some of the "adopt a pet" adoptions, let us know where the lucky ones ended up... it sounded like a good idea to me, so I thought I would pass it along, what do you think?
